Filter change and AIT sides installed

Finally had the time to change out my filters for the Injen CAI. Old one was waay too dirty. Feels good to know the car is breathing better.

Went through the wheel-well as you can see. Much easier than taking off the bumper I think.

Quick pic of the Stillen splitter and AIT sides.

how is the fitment of those AIT sides? did it require a lot of work/extra drilling to get them to fit right?

Thanks! I actually waited till the sides were all done and put in the splitter at the same time. I didn't have the splitter on before the sides.

Thanks. I wouldn't say a lot of extra work was required but then again all body kits will require some work to get it to fit right. I've even heard complaints from someone on the authentic TS kit.

I know people with the AIT kit that are just painted and slapped it on and it looked good without any noticeable defect. I wanted it to look as good as possible so the my shop block sanded it to get the the surface to be smooth, then fabricated custom brackets for the underside. Not exactly necessary but I wanted to get it perfect

The only part that is less than ideal is the top part where it meets the bottom of the door. The edge doesn't stay with the body very well, leaving some open space. My shop inserted some gromets in the OEM holes so when we screwed that part down, it alleviate some tension. But from the outside, it looks good. I like the black inner wall a lot too!

If anyone has any questions, please let me know. I will give you my honest opinion.

there's nothing wrong with being a perfectionist...I like my stuff to be done right too

I like the two tone...I'm thinking about getting these and having you wrap some CF on the inner wall for my OB...still deciding if it would look good or not

It would look awesome. I wanted to do the same thing too but I needed to spend my money elsewhere for a while, maybe later down the road.....

I got mine from Lou at Amplified. He knows the owner of AIT and is just down the street from him. I got a few other things at the same time so I'm not too sure about the cost on these alone. I also had to wait a few weeks because it was backed up. Check with him on what the current status is. Just to reiterate, the only gripe I have about it is the inside where the door shuts, but you won't see that anyway since the door is usually closed. Other than that, there shouldn't be anything a good body shop can't handle. Let me know if you run into any snags on the install.

I measured both side skits (OEM and AIT) when they were off the car and they are actually about the same. AIT appears to be lower because it protrudes outward and has a sharp angle/blocky at the bottom. OEM ones curves inward so there's no outside corner. But I believe the actual height and the lowest points on OEM and AIT are about the same. I'd be more worried about scraping the front (splitter or lip) than the sides.
