Not a bad option. But I call BS on your G35 friend having 10k rims and spraying 22 dollar plastic spray on them.

No BS...no reason to. Not trying to sell you a used car here, just sharing what I've done. He has custom IForged wheels and did the same thing, wanted to see what it would look like taking the chrome lip he has on his wheels away. I guess once you use it and see that it can come off if you want then it's a little easier to decide you will.

After you let the paint set for a few weeks, how hard is it to peel off? Will it leave any residues? Blemishes to the original paint? Willing to give it a try if I can go back to stock paint. Thanks!

If you want to see how your car will look....use Photoshop. Painting/coating is not going to come off without a fight....or it would come off in a day.

I would normally agree with you but like I said...I saw this with my own eyes and how easy it was to get it to come off. It turns to rubber and can be done in a thin coating so it really isn't hard to do. I am going to redo one rim that the paint from the factory was peeling and I can see where this stuff has gone over it. When I do that I will update to as how "difficult" it is to get this off and probably get a video attached.

If I thought this was something that would not work or I couldn't do then I wouldn't put it on here. I am a hands on or DIY kind of guy so this wasn't too scary for me especially since I saw another with it done and removed.

The rubbery look wouldn't bother me one bit, and would solve the problem of "the wife ruined my rear right wheel on a curb" and will save me from having to spend $350 bucks to get it fixed until next year when I get my rims.

Normal car detergent is fine for washing something with plastidip. Ive washed my grille (which is plastidipped) many times and its perfectly fine.

I just googled it...apparently a lot of other car forums are using this "plasti dip" method on their wheels and grilles

Did you actually "dip" the grille in plasti dip, or did you "spray paint" it?

I ask because I saw in another forum where a guy did his console (spray painted it) and says he has experienced chipping...just wondering if dipping makes a difference opposed to spraying it which might require the surface being primed first.
