G37 Motor-Lux CF Trunk - Installed

So....I finally got my trunk, after waiting months and months for my Mastergrade Trunk, which i still havent got anything from, I went ahead and ordered the Motor-Lux duck bill CF trunk. Ordered on Nov 13th, was supposed to be ready christmas week, they had some issues and it got delayed, so i just got it yesterday(3/4).

Unfortunately, with my luck, the trunk had some minor damage on the corners from shipping, its not terrible so ill just have a local shop touch it up. Still sucks though.

So anyway i finally got the trunk and just installed it today. The install was ALOT easier than i thought it would be. I did it by myself lol. First of all the weight of the trunk is alot lighter than oem, the motor-lux trunk felt like it weighed about 5lbs, and the oem felt like 30lbs. lol

I took the oem trunk and spoiler off, omg the spoiler was a major PITA to get off, had to to get the cam out though. Bolted the new trunk on, went very smooth and lined up great. Amazingly just putting the bolts in at the same place the oem ones were = perfect alignment. I was shocked. So install went very smooth. Just had to file out a few holes for clips for the carpet and whatnot, no big deal.

Enough rambling, on to the pics!!

Also if anyones wondering i just siliconed the camera in place. Once it dries it should hold good.

Also, leaving both trunk dampers(shock things) was a bit much since its so light, so i took off the drivers side and left just the pass side and it was much better.

Damn that looks amazing. Fitment is dead on.

Sorry for being off topic, but are your taillights overlays or painted? I'm wondering cause i had overlays put on and the shop that did it did a terrible job and claimed it was impossible to get them over the curves like that.

Thank guys!

My tails are painted. AFAIK im the only one with painted GTR tails.

The camera view is very good. A little bit higher than it was before, but still low enough where i can just barely see the rear bumper. I was worried about that but just putting it flat up against the inside of the lip was perfect.

No im not painting it. It doesnt feel like its clear coated so ill have that done.

Oh, i also made a custom 3rd brake light along the top of the rear window, bentley style. Couldnt finish up the wiring today so ill finish tomorrow and take some pics, but it looked dope.
