I don't think any IM mod or painted engine cover mod can be considered rare regardless of the finish since many members have done it.
I'm currently the only one rocking XIX X17s and as far as I know the only one with the AIT CF engine cover.

Painted engine covers are still rare.

Painted is kinda rare. But I still think Im the only one to grind off all the lettering and fill in the dimples.
