Wind + Tree branch VS. My car :(
Last night we had some nasty wind out on LI, lots of tree branches down. I do not have a garage, and all the spots in my driveway are under large old trees. I woke up this morning to find a 15 foot branch through my sunroof. I think it happened late in the night so I'm lucky there was not too much water in the car. I cleaned out the glass with a shop vac and the car is now in the bosyshop.
Since the water damage is not bad at all and everything seems to be working fine I'm not going to be putting the car through insurance. The cost for the roof is going to be around 550$ and I was told all the cleanup and detailing will be way under my 1000$ detuctable. The shop is also going to throw the car in the paint booth and let it heat up to dry all the water out. I'm lucky there was not body damage at all and the carpets are not even wet, only the headliner. I'm keeping all recipts incase something goes bad in the next few weeks.
If you look in some of the pics, an old powerline that used to power lights in the trees actually caught the branch and I'm sure saved the roof from any real damage.

Looks like an insurance job.... J/K LOL
That's terrible! Your car does look very clean and taken care of as mentioned above.
They sell these small bucket things in Home Depot that takes moisture out of carpet and things. I don't know how it works dut I do know that IT DOES WORK. I want to say it's called Damp Rid or something like that. It has little pellets inside.
Good Luck.
