Since it has been done several times, you could probably use the search function and find a picture of it actually done to decide if you want it or not.

paint the grille like that or buy the OEM midnight grille which looks the same.

Hm, interesting. I was going to do the same thing, except do the emblem-delete and black out the grill completely.
But my rims are the same color as yours, and i can see why people like the look of the chrome grill on silver wheels. It looks good either way though, but i would black all of it out if given the chance.

Stock grill goes better with your wheels. If you had darker wheels, then the black grill would look better.

although I somewhat agree, the key word here is 'stock'
That is mainly why I am painting mine semi-gloss. I have the same wheels.
