you probably meant the regular 5D.. but if you get his 5D, you still have to buy a lens!.. i don't think he's givin up that 35mm F/1.4! ; )

depends what you're mainly using the lens for so you know what lengths (mm) you need.. but the best lenses are the same no matter which Canon SLR you have.. so like, for taking pictures of part of a car or person etc, you can't do much better than the 35mm F/1.4 lens that Geoh was using on his friend's 5D.. they go for $1200 street price, new =P NO ZOOM! or NATURAL/AKA USE YOUR FEET ZOOM! hahahahha
For these G meets/shows, I mainly use the 24mm F/1.4, which is just a bit wider so i can get the whole car or multiple cars without standing farther away..
If you want the best general purpose lens that has the best quality picture, fast lens/fast light gathering for low light/indoor shooting, and zoom that covers from slightly wide to zoom for portrait pics of models, then you can't go much better than getting the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 for about $325.00.. it performs AS good as Canon's same "pro" level $1200 lens.. lots of Canon/Nikon pros use it.. i used to have one for 3 years..
