Well i finally got around to removing the grill and painting it.
I followed the DIY and it was very easy to remove the grill.

It does look good, nice work. For lazy bast**ds like me, looks like Riverside Infiniti is selling a midnight black grill, but it has the chrome on the outer edge. But if you are gonna keep the chrome emblem, the chrome edge will look good I think.

It's all relative. How long will it take me to pull the grill, prep, buy materials, paint, etc? If I had time on my hands I'd do it. but I think it's worth it for me to spring for the ~$300. Nothing for this car is cheap.
I got the black grill from Riverside Infiniti ebay store, got a decent price on it by making an offer and counter-offer. Installed in about 1.5 hours, but really could do it in much less if you are familiar with taking the front cover off in the engine bay. These are iPhone pics so cut me some slack on the photography.
