My day at S&R Performance (pics)
Alright guys. I was gonna wait till i got the things installed before posting up a thread..but i was too excited. I went to S&R in Tampa to get a few things done this thursday.
Some of the things on the agenda was:
-Install KW-v3's
-Alignment & corner balance
-ECU rom dump (for osiris uprev!!)
-Berk HFC install
Well. they grabbed the ECU dump, and installed the KW's. We ran into a problem with one of the bolts coming off to remove the stock cats, so i have to save that for another day. Heres a few pics that i snapped while i was there, trying to pass time.
The KW's feel and ride AWESOME. The car feels like its on rails now.. almost no squat or body roll..its sweet. the drop is pretty low too, but i didnt get any pics of the finished product as yet..i'll post those up tomorrow.
For the corner balance, they put 4 scales and adjusted the coils so the opposing corners are equally balanced. It took like a hour and a half of me sitting in the car, so they dial in the exact weight w/ driver.
A copy of my ECU was sent to Uprev so they could decode it, and i should have it back and ready for tune in about 4 weeks. Anyways, onto the pics. Cellphone pics FTL, they looked kinda clear on my phone, lol.
They tried using this jackhammer impact gun looking thing to get that 1 bolt off, but it wouldnt budge.
Poor hfc's couldn't go on today..
update: The actual dropped pictures are on page 2

^ LOL! sorry. The HFC's can't go on till like next week
And yea, S&R has a bunch of cool guys, and bobby is very cool about everything. Some of the cars there are wicked... a few sti's, supra, evo's, and a viper, among others.
The car height is like .5" lower than the htechs, nothing serious.

Yeah.. I was thinking about attempting it myself. Im glad i didn't... they had quite a bit of trouble with mine, and they still weren't able to. They said they'll take another shot at it next week, and maybe have to pull the manifold or something to get at it.
Do it, it should be awesome..

A little harsh, yeah. They said it'll take 3 hours each side. I could have sworn its possible from the top of the engine.. but apparently the steering column is blocking it.

Congrats on the new mods Mike,
Question though, could you elaborate on "a copy of your ECU being sent" ?

The Osiris up-rev pro-tune. Its like the cobb pro-tune, except well.. its available. They are currently working on G37's and 370z's.. but its not released yet.
The did a "ECU Rom Dump" and copied my ECU to send to Osiris, so they could decode it and send it back to the shop. At that point, they can flash that new thingy on my ECU and pro-tune it. ETA till they can do that is like 4 weeks. I think i may be one of the first ones that are getting up-rev.
