Alright, I need more info now. What's the backspacing or offset of those rims? How big is the lip on the rear wheels?

Those look absolutely awesome under there.

Ok, I just read it again. 20x10.5 Offset +42

What does the rear lip measure though?

It's not much of a "secret", (read the thread carefully) just a higher offset# that essentially pushes the rim/tire combo in towards the center of the car. I've suspected all along that there was plenty of room on the inside of the wheel well area to accommodate a larger rear set-up. There should be more wheel manufactures making a 10.5" rim in this offset for our cars! Why in the fuck don't more wheels have this offset for our cars? I would love to have 305's but it isn't happening with the offsets on the Volks that I have. I kinda feel cheated!

I'm dropped on Tein S-Techs and I actually spaced the rears out a little more with a 3mm spacer. They were 20x10.5 +42 before and now they're at a +39. You do have to trim the liner and the bracket like Blackjack did on his write up cause if not u will rub. I love the flush look though.

The lip sizes are as follows:

2" front
4" rear (they seem a little deeper though maybe 4.5"?)

what volk do u have? wezbian has 305 in the rear as well, 10.5 gt30 Phantom, but i think he says he rubs.. so i guess its actually possible to go 305 on a +37 offset, but tight fit

If you move the rear bolt that hold the rear bumper to the Fender you can run 295 with the +37 GT30.

Unless you are making over 450+ i dont think you need that wide of a tires....

I have yet to buy wheels for Her car but I've been doing some researching. It absolutely amazes me how so many people can spend so much money on rims and have no idea what there offset is. There seems to be plenty of room under there and everyones pushing the outside limit for some reason. I guess just for more lip.

well it either you want to run big tires with no enough HP or run an aggressive setup to at least make the car look good.

U don't NEED that wide of tires, but it looks a lot better to have wide tires in the rear to me at least

I think tread pattern plays a key role in the appearance of having wide tires. I find that the treads that have wider patterns in them - such as Toyo T1R's or Vredesteins appear wider than those with smaller sectional patters such as Potenzas regarless of their true measured width.

All about illusions - the eye to brain communication is a funny thing....
