TWM M1 Abrams shift **** installed with pics (satin finish)
My TWM shift **** finally came in yesterday.
I got the M1 Abrams in the "Satin Finish". The thing is heavy...site says it weights approx. 460grams, that's about 1lb lol it feels nice though.
I love the way it sits SUPER low...no joke...the thing sits really low but that's what i was going for. Since it sits lower that means its threaded all the way to the top of the ball...which would make you need more force to put it in each gear, but the weight difference evens out and it feels perfect after you get used to it.
The way they get this super low stance is that the threads on the **** are actually really wide. If you have taking of your stock shift ****, you'll notice that at one point after the threads stop that the shifter gets wider. This **** will actually go over that and sit even lower. It comes with an extra piece that you thread onto the shifter and then you screw the **** onto that...the extra piece only reaches half way to the bottom of the ****...so the bottom of the **** is still really wide and will go over that extra width on the shifter. No need for a bushing or anything to hold up the leather or put it down, it sits so close that it just stays in place. (should of taking pics of what i just explained but i forgot lol)
Here's the link to the **** incase anyone is interested (just put in G35 when you order): http://www.twmshiftknobs.com/shiftkn...hiftknobs.html
Here are some pics...i tried getting some close-ups so you can see the finish on the ****...i love the way it looks in person. It's a little darker than the washi aluminum trim but has a nice contrast.

remember my car went to infiniti to get the new tranny...well since it was there i asked them to take of the shift ****. They called me back saying that it would probably be destroyed if they take it off. I go "your not gonna charge me then right?". They say no so i told them to go ahead and take it off (either i take it off and destroy or they do...so rather let them do it for me). Point is...when i picked up the car the stock shift **** was sitting on the shifter nice and loose for me and in almost perfect condition...just some slight where on one side. No charge...so i lucked out.

i think when i took the pic i was resting the camera on or near the seat so it kinda looks a little bit lower than it really is because of the angle...but its still super low.

LOL I almost laughed my head off after looking at the pics... it's sooooo short and stubby...
Just my 2¢!

oh yea and incase anyone is wondering...it comes with a height adjuster piece also...i didn't use it as it states "if you want the lowest stance don't use it", and that's what i was going for.
Just inase people like it but don't want it that short.

the shifter feel is great. I actually had an older round ball from my Evo that i had on for a week before this so i forget how the stock one felt lol And this one sits lower than the Evo one but is heavier so it feels good.
i bet if i used the height adjuster screw that came with it and put it higher it would feel smoother but i like the way it looks, and it feels good like this.
Think of it like when your using a wrench...if its longer you have to put less force to turn it...the shorter, the more force. This sits really low...its threaded all the way up to the top, but since its really heavy it still feels good...if i were to use the height adjuster scew it would prob feel even smoother but sit a little higher. But i like this low stance, and to me it feels great like this. But its good that they give you that screw to choose what height so anyone can pick how they want it to sit.
