New G37 Owner - Have Pics to Say Hi
Hey G37 Owners~
Just want to introduce myself. Got a new G37~ Hope the pics are to your liking. I just got through the infamous break in of 1200 miles!
I'm sure it brings back memories for you all
Yes...I WILL change the rims...
The G was actually a quick buy for me. I needed to buy a car pretty quickly because I got into a car accident. (High school kid adjusting radio driving 50mph...) I had to buy a car quickly because I had no car. My Camaro (500hp/490tq @ 12mpg) wasn't gonna be a good daily driver. Never drove a Japanese car. 335i...turned me off when I saw it overheat on the Motortrend? test drive. American....nothing I really want is out.
I'm very very happy with the G37
And I'm also very happy to be a G37 owner.
Current Status:
Break-in was good.
Getting 20.9mpg in the city.
Gave it some gas after 1200 miles and a smile came on my face.
Love driving it. Feel sorry for the Owners that can't drive because of snow. In the AZ....74F and sunny. Today...Tommorow... hehe
Anyways, thanks for looking!

Thanks Gamedog! Your car is beautiful man.
Thanks aliiin! Hahaha so so true. My mod plans...I told myself I'm going to stay calm with this car. hahaha, I know....that feeling didn't last too long.
I was doing pretty good until 1200 miles.... However, something clicked in the back of my head and what do you know...I've been bitten by the Mod Bug.
I'm guessing most typically do: Intake, Headers, Exhaust, and Tune. I'm actually kind of new to the "New Car" mods. I'm kind of old school. I grew up learning how to tune Holley and Quadrajet carbs...Adjusting the timing..."Muscle Car" stuff.
I'm also thinking of making this a good track car. I already have a car that is fast in the straights. I think its about time to make a car that is good in the turns, but has enough torque and hp for the straights. Everything balanced.

Welcome! What model/yr/specs is your camaro? How are you only getting 12mpg at 500hp. My husband's camaro has LS1 403rwhp and gets better gas millage than me!
I am surprised you didnt opt for the Sport. So if you are wanting to make it a good track car, you will definitely need to update suspension. I have never driven a non-sport G37 but after driving a non-sport G35 sedan, it is quite a big difference.

welcome and congrats on the new g! i like your thinking with handling, definitely some sways and good springs or even a set of nice coilovers will make it a completely different car to drive. like the pics too. what camera did you use?

My Dad's car is a 1981 Turbo Trans Am. We took out the weak turbo motor, and dropped in an original 1970 Ram Air IV 428ci motor. He too loves NA. For those that aren't familiar with the Ram Air IV, these are the highest flowing stock head in the market. Considered as the best performing head. He was offered by the Pontiac dealership any brand new motor that he wanted in exchange for his heads. His heads are around $15,000. For rarity and condition. Ported, polished, with PURE titanium valves. He has roughly 600hp/550tq. Before the engine rebuild for emissions, he ran 11s on street tires all day long. Original paint and interior. Door closes like its brand new.
I DID want the sport version. But its hard to buy a car in my situation. Its like, drop what your doing and go buy a car today. I'm 24, Optical Engineer, work fulltime, going to grad school for a Masters, bought a house 2 years ago, ok...go buy a car NOW.
Knowing me, I would take apart the factory stuff, Sport or Non Sport. I tend to keep what I buy for a LONG time, so I don't mind taking it apart. I'm not planning on an INSANE track car. Just one I can enjoy. It is afterall, the first car that I have owned that is geared more towards track, curvy, stuff. Also, its my daily driver. A freakin awesome DD if you ask me! Don't forget that I'm also very appreciative to own a G. And also very happy to meet fellow G owners!
