Ah, indeed I am. Its a good solid name. The way I figure it - if you take enough pictures something is bound to come out looking decent right?

Right clicking on any image will give you all the EXIF data for that image. Right clicking on Snareman's G35 picture gives you the following info. You can see aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc.. oh, and camera brand.

I like this feature in opera. I think I will upgrade now to it. Maybe it will be better than Firefox.

Nice Camera and nice photos. I have Xti (400D) and I satisfied with it. I think about upgrading to 40D or a 1d Mk2 or 5D. depending on my bucket.

try to upgrade your lens kit and you will love your camera more. the true performance of it will come with the better quality lenses.

Agreed. For the most part, better glass will get you better pics than a better camera. My walkaround lens is the 24-105L. I think I took that picture back when I had the 17-85. I have a bunch of other lenses as well. I'd love to get the 24-70 f2.8. Would also love the 5dMkII, but can't really justify either at the moment.

Yeah

I have 24-70 sigma as walkaround lens and 70-200 sigma. they were a great combination, I just aim for 12-24 tokina or 10-17 tokina for now. The quality of photos were better than my previous lens. Which made me still on my 400D for more than a year.

Also your photos are great and your ride is nice.

I have the Canon 10-22 and its a fun lens that you can get some great perspectives with. It creates a bit of a fisheye effect, although not nearly as much as the 14mm fisheye. Or is it 12mm fisheye. There is the one lens that has such a wide angle that when you're pointing straight in front of you, you have to be careful your feet aren't in the pic!

The 40D is outdated compared to the XSi in terms of technology, even though it is considered more of a "pro" body camera. If you're deciding between those two, I'd get the XSi body only then put that $200-300 you saved into getting a decent lens.

I use the 8mm sigma and it's amazing, It make (fisheye) too circular effect with the crop frame of Xti. But I need a better rang to have a kit with a good range (12 to 200mm). so, I think about tokina 12-24 because it's good quality and performance of lens and it will work with full frame in future as I read.

XSi easy to use and have a great technology. 40D more pro and a fast burst shooting. If you will go to shoot for sports u will need 40D, unless XSi will be more than enough.

I prefer to see your bucket and go for body camera and take a good lens with it as psyh said. or take the kit it will not be that bad, especially with the 18-55 IS lens, It have better performance than the old version of it.

you guys have some pricey gear for sure.

i just have the 18-55 IS and the 55-200 IS. both have been great so far.

I'll be purchasing the Canon 50/1.8 pretty soon. It's only 85 dollars so that's pretty cheap.

I have the 50 1.4, but I agree - the 1.8 is a great lens for the price! None of the 50's (the 1.2L, 1.4 or 1.8) are very sharp wide open, but around 2.2 on the 1.8 or mayn 1.8-2 on the 1.4 it starts getting decently sharp. You just have to be careful if you're up close because the depth of field is so shallow you're likely to get someone's nose in focus and not the rest of their face. Aim for their eyes.

great advice guys.

I'm very new into the whole DSLR scene. It'll take a decent amount of time for me to swallow lens prices in excess of $600. I saw the Canon 50/1.2 lens was $1,400...

Yea, I'm not sure I need the 1.2 for the price. I think the 1.4 was around $300. The 24-105L that I have is around $1000, but it was a nice improvement in reach and quality compared to the 17-85 that I had before. I got to play with the Canon 600mm for a weekend. Its a $7k lens that is just huge and heavy. I'd read that if you have that lens to be prepared for people to come up and ask you about it. I was at an airshow (which I totally don't recommend it for) and had 10-15 people come up and want to look at it. One guy wanted his picture taken with it. It was a blast to play with though! I wanted to take it to the zoo, but it was an hour away and it was already 95 degrees outside that day.

I'd love to get the 400 or 500, except they start getting pretty expensive in that range. Maybe if I was getting paid to take sports pics I could justify it.
