Murdered Tail Lights
Well, as some of you know I had the Lamin-X Overlays and to make a long story short for a little bit more money you can get your tails professionally smoked. The overlays lack the glossiness of any paint and look cheap up close to me. So I took my tail lights to a good friend's body shop and he smoked them out for me. They are almost black, but light still shines through perfectly. I don't like the look of reverse cutouts especially when the tails are so dark so I decided just to go with a full smoke and I'm happy with it. I'll get some night pictures so you can see the light output and clarity.
Next mods coming up are: installation of S-Techs that I already have. Rear spoiler, black chrome emblems, stillen grille, and hopefully a set of 360 forged straight 5's in matte black with a chrome lip.

Yeah they are painted with a mixture of clear and black to make it transparent. He sprayed them 3 times to get the shade that I was happy with and then cleared over that when he was done.

Looks nice but I woudn't want to diminish the light output in any way. Not sure about Lamin-X but I rather like Bat's tail lights.

It really didn't diminish the light output as much as you think. I'll get the night pictures with my brothers G35 sedan next to each other. His are stock so u can compare brightnesses.
And i'm not ragging on overlays at all! They're just not for me and will never come out perfect. I'm OCD when it comes to things like that but I know for a fact that bat makes quality products.

No i'm not going to smoke the headlights. I've never really liked smoked headlights, but I am going to bake the lights and paint the amber reflector black.
It looks good, but I really don't want to debadge my car. It's subjective but i tihnk it looks better with badges.
Sure you can. It's not as easy but can definitely be done by sanding and polishing the plastic afterwards.
