My OB G37 after wash/clay bar/polish with PC/sealant/wax
Spent about 6 hours today working on my G. Washed it, then used clay bar on it, then I polishing out all the surface scratches and swirls left by dealer when I got car 3 weeks ago using my new porter cable. Then I used the PC to apply my sealant, and finally waxed by hand. Car looks showroom quality now, at least for a day or two, LOL!! Thanks to George at Detailed Image for most of my supplies and his input, I had never detailed a car in my life besides basic wax etc. I followed his advice and the "how to" sections on his site.

Steve, excellent job! Your car looks like a mirror, you should be very proud of yourself, especially since this was your first time at it with a Porter Cable 7424.
You definitely were much better off doing it yourself, no dealership would have put that much care into your car!
Congrats on a stunning looking G.

wow, I was kind of shying away from BO because of swirls and whatnot (leaning toward Athens Blue, btw just saw one right now in La Jolla on La Jolla Village Drive making a left onto Gennessee two young guys if your on here) but when I see it like this makes me re-think what color to get.

2. I then air dried the car with a leaf blower, works quick in the South Florida Sun.
3. Next I move the car into my garage and proceed to clay bar the entire car, I use the Meguiar's Clay Bar Kit.
4. Then the real process of polishing my G with my Porter Cable and Menzerma PO106FF polish begins. It was my 1st time doing this so I had to redo my hood, roof and trunk as there were still many scratches and swirls after my first attemp. I learned to slow my movement down and use more polsih while working in smaller 18" x 18" sections, made a huge difference and eliminated most fine surface swirls and scratches.
5. Once done I then used my Porter Cable to apply my Perma Plate paint guard that I got from the dealership as a "throw in" when I bought the car. The paint guard is really just a fancy name for a sealant.
6. When done with this I proceeded to hand wax the car with my trusty old Eagle One Nano Wax, I know there are probably better waxes out there today, but I've always liked the Nano Wax from the first day I used it a few years ago, so I stick with it.
7. Six hours later, presto, car looks show ready and the looks and comments are more than ever at red lights.
