Thank you to the lifted redneck truck with no mudflaps.

Driving down Hwy 512 in Puyallup (suburb of Seattle), a big lifted truck with no mudflaps shot a rock at a bazillion mph towards my windshield. I heard a crack, looked from the inside for damage, and saw none. Thought I had dodged a bullet.

Turns out, the impact was below my line of sight at the bottom of the windshield. Throughout the day, it grew to a 9" crack on the passenger side.

So - redneck azzh0le - Thank you for the 9" crack in my windshield on my new G. Your truck DOES look way cooler without mudflaps and I congratulate you for your status in the redneck hierarchy.

f**ker.

Dude that sucks - I hate that $hit...Look on the brightside - it's strictly your windshield and not the body of your car right? Replacing a stock windshield isn't too bad - The dealer may charge you closer to $500ish but a stock windshield ordered and installed by a reputable 3rd party may save you $100-$200

Calling around, no one seems to make the G37 windshield aftermarket yet. (Wouldn't it just be the 07 G35 windshield?)

Windshield from the Dealer is $850, not counting labor.
Insurance deduct is $500.

I think I'll wait until spring and let it take the abuse of the winter, then get it replaced. By then there will be "aftermarket" ones for far cheaper.

most insurance companies replace them for free....
a cracked windshield is a HUGE liability in about 10 different ways.
check your policy.

Depends on state. Something in Florida laws make insurance companies there replace them for free. I know for a fact thats not true in GA. You would need a special policy here which probably wouldnt be worth it.

Should have gotten his license plate number...

haha. I feel the same about those rednecks lifted trucks with no mud flaps. I always avoid them by switching lanes as soon as possible. Actually I feel the same about most trucks and SUV's with no mud flaps. Especially during raining seasons.. Dumb ***.s

I thought all insurance companies had free glass. That's too bad. Sorry about your crack though. We have free glass here, YET I'm on my 4th week staring at a 12" crack. (Man that sounds bad)

Checked with my insurance - $500 deductible.

No free glass in WA State.
