I was a bit curious regarding this thread’s title. I never thought there were degrees of illegality. Something was either illegal or not. But perhaps we’re on to something here. We should develop a scale of illegality; let’s say 1 to 100, with 1 being hardly illegal at all and 100 being immediate arrest. We could put in factors for the probability of being pulled over, safety parameters of course, and environmental concerns. A 1 could be for no front plate, with 100 being texting at night with 5% windshield tint while going 120mph, test pipes underneath and some meth in the glove box.

We could call the scale “DUMI” for Dicey Unlawful Mod Index. Once established, it could even be used as a legal defense in court, e.g., “Your honor, I should have never been pulled over for my blue headlights. The DUMI for that is only 10.”

it's safer to off the LEDs when running headlights because LEDs doesn't like heat in general

Goodn one. DUMI level on your signature or album too.

Why make it a blue LEDs? Somebody has blue LEDs in NorCal already. Be original, and make it blurple(DUMI level is 1) LEDs.

I was also looking @ your signature, and I think you're basically stock. Why make your first mod illegal? Also to have this mod on a stock G is not well suited. My 2 cents.

Yes, as discussed in another thread my car stock. But I do have an AOPA sticker on my rear window. (sigh) That may give me a DUMI rating of 2.

They are illegal and it depends on the cop and his/her mood that day. If he did not get some the previous night, you may be in trouble.

They caught my bud before he had a change to turn it off. The cops came out from nowhere.
