Rear deck spoiler install Northern VA

Does anyone know where I can get the rear deck spoiler installed in the DC area? I tried the dealership and they want to charge $375. I went to some shops and they said they don't know if they can do it.

If you have some basic tech skills you can install it by yourself, especially if it's a tape-on lip spoiler. I didn't find G37 installation videos but these basic instructions on youtube can help.

Lip spoiler tape-on:

The OEM spoiler is both tape on and bolt on. You have to drill some holes in your trunk lid. The kit comes with the template and ALL the hardware you need. Many non-oem don't come with everything you need. If you have attention to detail skills and are OK handling a drill you can do it yourself. Get the right drill bits and rust preventative paint and don't rush and skimp. Don't try and do it when you need the car in an hour. Best to do it over a weekend as to let the rust preventative dry properly (you need this for the freshly drilled holes).

Drilling my trunk is going to be the hardest part but I'll definitely give it a try this weekend.

Do some searches here, there are posts about the install, the graduated drill bit to get, etc ..... measure three times, drill once.

Hit up D&V Autobody off Rt 606 in Dulles, VA. They have done all my bodywork in the past and I wouldn't trust anyone else (besides a local who owned a body shop which his no longer in VA).

They work on higher-end vehicles and their prices are very competitive.

Also, I think the reason your dealership is charging so much because they are going to bring a body guy in to do the job - they might not keep someone like that on their immediate payroll.

I just went there yesterday and they gave me a quote for $300. I did find another shop that would do it for $100 but I would have to leave my car there

When it comes to anything body work related, I do not cheap out. I'd rather have a 100% qualified professional take care of it versus someone who does that kind of work on the side.

I put mine on last weekend. It was nerve-racking drilling into the trunk but I think it came out well. Everything works and it looks fancy!
