Hi-performance transmission work • Level Ten, NJ

It's no surprise to many members of this forum that I've utilized the services and components provided by Level Ten Transmissions in Hamberg, NJ.

The owner, Pat Barrett, is a long-time performance expert, and has a list of credits that goes wall-to-wall.

He has two sons: One works in the shop, and the other is in the Marines.

My own car has his 'Bulletproof' package and an upgraded torque converter. I've flogged the HE*L out of this car this past year, going to the track 3 times, lots of dial in runs on the street, and a slew of extreme dyno passes. I pushed it to the point of it slipping again (What brought me there last May), and Pat went in and not only replaced worn components, but had some parts specially made, and reworked some of the electronics inside.

The result is powerful and crisp. I'm excited to return ONCE to the track to establish just how credible the work is, and we (The Shop CT) have Atco rented on Mar 5th. (Contact if you are interested in joining.)

Here is a look at Level Ten:

Here is a Nissan 7-speed valve body. He's familiar with them as well as my 5-speed.

These may have been mine, I'm not sure, but this is what I had.

This is the inside of his bays with Pat escorting my wife and I around.

You don't get over twenty years of wall-to-wall magazine articles by doing sloppy work. The shop is spacious and clean, and Pat is very accommodating.

Props to Level Ten.

Coop

Any specifics on what was exactly done to mod the transmission further than it was before?

Thanks for the review Coop, this is very reassuring to know. My last car had a slew of transmission-related issues so I'm hyper-sensitive to them now, to the point of paranoia. Glad to know we've got options when the poop hits the fan.

Im wondering.....do any of their mods help lessen (or even get rid of) a lot of the lag in the 7AT?

Be interesting if we could pick his brain vs letting Infiniti tell us nothing can be fixed.

The prices are all on their website. Look it up.

I did and I'm satisfied to the max.
