Then if/when you bust them you can prove that they are yours and have been stolen.

I hope you get your wheels back.

On another subject, craigslist should just change their name to www.hookersandstolenshit.com
hahahahaha.. love the new name. first laugh i have had all day.

Ouch, leaving that stuff lying outside overnight wasn't a very smart move on your behalf. There's a saying in arabic that translates to: "Loose money teaches people the taboo"

Glad it was only the winter 18s

I have not examined my factory wheels closely but do wheels have serial numbers on them?
Let's say that you get your wheels stolen and see a post on craigslist or on ebay, how are you going to prove that those are yours.

No, they don't. Hence my advice to mark them if you are in a place where they are commonly stolen like Jersey or NYC.

They are like that from the factory. Scrape it off with a fingernail.

The dot is to indicate the heavy part of the rim. The tires usually have a small red dot indicating the heavy portion. These are for the installer to use to match place the two dots (opposite I expect) so the tire will balance easier and not have too many weights.

well i work at a dealership where we do window etching, so im prob going to just use the same stuff on the wheels from now on. or use my electric engraving pen to mark them up. either way im going to take preventative measures this time. maybe put lojack in each one, hmm..
