Might be moving to Alantown, PA

Hey all, I might be moving from Las Vegas, NV (where I'm at now) to Alantown, PA. How is it in PA in general and also how are the car meets, (if any)? I never been there and I might be moving there in 1 month due to parents getting transferred out there for job. I might be visiting to see if I like it before I move there, maybe I'll see a few Gs around. Thanks for all the input.

It's Allentown. Though it's not the most cosmopolitan city, it's not too far from Philly and not too far from NYC. If you like snow and hills with your outdoors, you'll like the Lehigh Valley.

I see plenty of modded cars whenever I'm up there, and there are plenty of nice driving roads around.

Thanks a lot for the input. I'm probably going to get a plain ticket and visit there for a week or so soon.

Moving from Vegas to Hicksville will be quite a culture shock. At lest you'll be the coolest kid in town.

From what I have noticed, the G population...Infiniti in that, isn't as big as it is on the West Side. Here in Cali I see a G almost at every intersection. It's gonna be sad when I go back to East.

Crickets.

The good news is you're only 1 hr from Poconos and they have a decent road course if you get in on the FUSA days.

I like not driving an over popular car.

Perfect if you lived in LV and been to Alantown, so how is it different? Pros and cons? Me living in vegas for 10+ years growing up here, how do you think I will like it there?

I live about an hour north. I'll disagree with what Tainui is saying about Pocono being a decent road course. I only like it because it's close. If distance weren't a factor, I'd much rather Watkins Glen, Summit Point, or NJMP. Heck I'd even take Limerock over Pocono. My wife's G is hardly ever seen because it sits in our garage. It comes out 2-3 times a week in the nicer weather months. Allentown or the Poconos is not as hick as it used to be. In fact there are large problems with urbanites infiltrating the areas causing lots of crime I am one of tens of thousands of people living up in the Poconos (and the Lehigh Valley for that matter) who commute into NYC every day.

Catch a 5:10AM bus and I'm at Port Authority at 6:30. Evenings are worse because the "rush" is more condensed so I usually catch a 5:05 or 5:20 bus which gets me to my car by 7 or 7:30... closer to 8 on a Friday in the summer and it's raining. Closer to forget about it if there's a Nascar race and all the NY and NJ people are clogging the roads coming up to watch it
