Well I talked to clutch masters for you!

they said stage 1,2,3 all will have the same pedal feel and if you are going to do kevlar he recommends stage 3 for NA bolt ons. His reasoning was that it would last longer (segemented vs full faced). They are priced the same so just something to consider.

did not ask about clutch chatter, so I am not sure if one is more noiser than the other, if these are not damenped then they are probably the same

going witht with the AL based flywheel your rps will pick up faster but also the down side is they will fall quicker also.

if you are staying NA for the life of the car then I think looks like this is fine. If you are consdiering doing FI i would go OS gieken like everyone else. (i was first though!)

lol I'm not sure if I'm gonna go FI anytime soon... this all happened too suddenly and I didn't have much time to research it, so I went with a name I know is good (plus I talked to my friend who pays attention to quality)... not the most ideal way to have such critical work done, but I think I'll be fine for a good amount of time. Maybe by the time this clutch goes I'll be ready for FI.

As for cost, I ordered the parts from CorSport, since I've bought from them before and they have good prices and free shipping (although because of the timeline the stealership gave me I needed it asap, so I got overnight shipping)... was about 1300 shipped for the Stage II clutch and aluminum flywheel by ClutchMasters, which comes with the pressure plate, throwout bearing, etc... dropping the trans was 700 for labor (astronomical, I know, but I had it towed there thinking it might be under warranty, a gamble I lost haha), and I haven't been told yet the labor for installing the new stuff, but I'll get back to you on that when I go there on Friday.

So $2000 so far, not including towing because Infiniti roadside assistance didn't tell me how much/if I had to pay that. But we'll see.

wow, thats alot - I think I paid 2200 for my Osgieken installed. On their website clutchmasters it list the part you are getting for 720, not sure if that includes the AL flywheel though or shipping.

let us know how it pans out for you when you get it back.

Yeah I got the short end of the stick this time, but you do what you gotta do. Corsport sells the flywheel and clutch separately for around 500 each, so I did save a little bit, plus ordering them together they gave me a discount (a whopping $25) so I can't complain THAT much. But we'll see if the new setup solves the soft clutch feeling I didn't like with the OEM clutch. Hopefully the learning curve isn't too high

also, I just looked at their site; the $700ish you saw looks like it was just for the clutch and pressure plate, no flywheel. Their picture is the same one on CorSport for not including the flywheel.

took me about a month on the new clutch feel , but really if you don't drive it everyday it will take a while to master. i was still messing up 6 months after because I only drove it on the weekends.

it's my DD so hopefully I get used to it quick. When I first got the car it took me a week to get used to... about 3 days for my civic... and about 3 weeks for my civic before that (my first car)... so yeah, hopefully the trend stays pretty good haha

reminder

"7418 Grove Road
Frederick, MD 21704
(301) 662-0111

9AM – 10AM: Breakfast will be provided by Frederick Nissan as everyone arrives. Service manager Gary Lewis and their GT-R Tech will be present to answer service questions about the GT-R. We will also provide Maps of the park area and the route that will be driven.

10AM – 12PM: Drivers will depart Frederick Nissan in groups to keep congestion on the roads down so that all can enjoy the ride to Manor Area Pavilion at Cunningham Falls State Park.

12PM – 7:30PM: Catered lunch and BBQ and good times for all. Stay as long as you like. We have the pavilion until sundown. Stay and eat or drive a few of the routes on the park map which I highly suggest. A lot f these roads are maintained by state and federal crews and are very nice to drive.

There will be professional photography taking place throughout the day for Modified Magazine as well as a few video cameras and interviews with shop owners and other invited industry professionals. So take your time to find out who’s who at the BBQ, you might be surprised at who you meet.

As it stands, the R32/33/34 and R35 will all be represented at the Spring Thaw. So bring the Rides and don’t forget your appetites!

Again, all GT-Rs and Skylines are free. If your attending in anything else please prepare a $5 donation

that sucks, but you'll be happy once you get it back.

Christian, is there a pre-meet for the GT-R meet scheduled?

No but if you want to drive down together I'm sure we can arrange that. I wanted to leave early enough to get there by 9am which means 8am depart for me. Maybe I'll finally get to run a gtr this time. We can meet at the 70park and ride if you want

I didn't get it back yesterday. "Definitely done by tomorrow" is what they told me yesterday. Never going to them again, that's for sure. Possible warranty item or not, doesn't matter.
