Nope...the Zanker site has been downsizing big time. That is actually Sony Electronics and an ex-repair facility (the building is a facade - 50%+ of the interior is a warehouse/repair facilty) so we're not directly affliated with them. The Zanker site to us is where we go to buy our employee dicount product (although that may close down too)

Most people don't know this, but PlayStation's corporate HQ is in Foster City of all places.

Unfortunately, no discounts on hardware...we don't make any moolah on hardware.

Typical video game business model is (as well as other products reliant on secondary products (i.e. software)...loss on hardware, profit on software. We get a percentage of EVERY software title shipped since we're the hardware manufacturer.

The problem, if no one buys software and only uses it as a Blu Ray...we're in trouble!

^that is a Sony technology...not a PlayStation tech. So there is no direct relation regarding the technology implementation and how it is licensed. I hope that the BR tech is "free" to encourage publishers to release movies for it.

But, let's keep this thread about the "Professional Networking". If you have any questions about PS, PM me.

I work for Alexza Pharmaceuticals, a biotech company in Palo Alto.

As the name implies, I'm an officer with the California Highway Patrol. I have nothing to offer except to serve as the member's whipping boy for angst and distrust of law enforcment.
