Pleasanton, Niello, or Oakland

I'll have to take my car soon in for the 30k service.
Which service department is the best in your opinion, and why?

I used to go to Niello but I got fed up with their lack of customer service. I would have a different service writer every time I visited. If I complained about something, they ALWAYS said they could not duplicate the problem. The last time I picked up my car the airbag light came on and stayed on. I didn't want to drive my car in that condition so I had to leave it overnight again. Also, all my radio stations presets were lost. When I complained to the service guy he just kinda shrugged his shoulders. That was the end of my business dealings with them.

My next stop was Peninsula. They were great...at first. Customer service was top notch, I had the same service writer every time, and they were very friendly and attentive. That was until I had engine failure and then they didn't want to fix my G under warranty. They sited the CAI and exhaust I had. It turned into a nine week ordeal. In the end they replaced my engine under warranty, but it's still a sore subject. I don't blame my service writer I blame the service manager there who I believe to be a complete idiot.

My next service appointment is with Pleasanton on the ninth of August. I will report back my experience.

I've gone to Pleasanton for all of my car's services (25k miles currently). It's always been a great experience. If it matters, I've never had any issue with my vehicle, so I can't say how they are if you report any problems to them.

Bought mine in Pleasanton, and had all my service work done there so far.

Had the issue with my 6MT grinding between 1st & 2nd under hard acceleration, and between 5th & 6th under ALL conditions. Told them about it at the 15,000 mile service, the service technician drove it, came back and said "we'll have a new transmission here in 1 week" (no arguments, no hassles). They wouldn't let me pay for the 15K mile service that day, said "You can pay after we've replaced the transmission, and are happy with your car".

They replaced the 6MT, and "clutch pack" (pressure plate, throwout bearing, clutch disc) a week later - took them 1 day. Dropped it off at 8:00 AM, picked it up at 5:00 PM.

Very happy - no problems to report. So obviously, I like Pleasanton.

My $0.02

I think I know your dad, he use to work at Dublin Nissan, right? I bought my Z from him at Dublin Nissan. Saw him again at Niello when I serviced my G35 at Niello. Your dad's a cool guy, but hate to say I wouldn't get my service done from Niello, had several bad experience from them.

I've been going to Pleasanton and Oakland (same ownership with Pleasanton Infiniti), never had a problem.

Allright...maybe I should give Pleasanton another chance. I'll keep you posted how it goes.

Well, they're already off to a VERY bad start.

When I called a week ago to make my appointment I told the receptionist I wanted to bring my car in on Aug. 9th (Tuesday) and that I needed a loner. She offered several appointments in the morning, which I cannot do, so she suggested I bring my car in at 4:00pm and the work could be done the next day (Wednesday). I agreed, since I work graveyard shift and don't wake up until around 3:00pm anyway.

Today (Monday) I get a reminder call from the receptionist that I have an appointment to take my G in today.
ME: No, the appointment is for tomorrow, Tuesday.
HER: No, it's for today.
ME: I made the appointment for Tuesday the 9th, not Monday the 8th.
HER: No it's for today.
ME: No, the 9th.
HER: What?
ME: The appointment was for the 9th, tomorrow.
HER: Well, can you bring you car in today?
ME: No, I work tonight, that's why I made the appointment for TUESDAY THE 9TH.
HER: What if you bring the car in by six or six thirty?
ME: I work tonight, there is no way I can do it.
HER: Loooong silence...
ME: Is there a problem?
HER: Yes, there isn't a loaner available for tomorrow.
ME: OK, well how about Wednesday? I could bring the car in on Wednesday.
HER: I won't have a loaner available until Thursday.
ME: I go back to work on Thursday.
HER: How about Friday?
ME: I work. Tuesday and Wednesday are my only days off. I will have to check my calander and get back to you.
HER: OK

No the 45,000 mile service and I was going to have them fix the rear deck rattle/creak and fix my shift bezel which is loose.
