2014 Q60 Convertible parts/Trunk flipper and lower seat assembly
I'm looking for a couple of parts for my 2014 Infiniti Q60 Convertible:
1. Passenger side (right side) Trunk flap/flipper assembly. I'm sure it's the gear inside that wore out. Don't want to mess with it. Infiniti wants to charge me $1,400 for the part, but I was hoping to find it cheaper online somewhere.
2. Passenger side lower seat bottom assembly. Water got on the sensor and now the airbag light is on and has basically disabled the airbag system. Again, Infiniti wants to charge me $4,500 for this part. Hoping to find a used one or something online that's cheaper to replace it with.
Appreciate any help with affordable options!
Doug

First welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new toy!
The airbag issue can easily be remedied by installing a sensor emulator which "tricks" the SRS control unit into thinking the seat is occupied. This thread will have more information and pictures on the emulator and how to install it. Install should take less than one (1) hour even for a novice and the emulator costs about $80. (emulator quicklink airbag360.com).
The flapper is going to be a entirely different beast. Your easiest, and best option, would be to replace the gear. I know you mentioned you "don't want to mess with it" but unless you have a ton of free money laying around, the repair is going to be expensive. This thread regarding gear replacement shows the process. Even if you do not have the tools/skills, a trusted mechanic should be able to complete the job at a fraction of the cost of a new flipper assembly. The cheapest I found the right flipper/ linkage arm is $875 79912-JJ50B. Only as a last resort would I trust the dealer to fix (replace) the flapper.
A IPL 'Vert.... you lucky duck...
Good luck and please keep us updated.

Appreciate all the great info! Follow up question to the seat issue. Infiniti told me that the sensors in the seat are toast. Will the device that overrides the airbag system be able to clear it - even with the bad seat sensors? I'm definitely going to buy the flapper myself and have a mechanic install it for me.

The emulator module bypasses the seat sensor. In essence, it becomes the sensor. You unplug the sensor from the harness and plug the emulator module into the harness. Done. Again, the thread I referenced above has all the information you need.
I would still recommend you replace just the gears in your existing flappers with those from Guy Menard. His metal gear replacements will outlive the life of the car plus you get both gears (one for each side) much cheaper than the cost of one assembly from Infiniti. There is no guarantee that the replacement flapper, while new, won't eventually fail either.
However, your car, your wallet, your decision.
