2012 G37 ipl
Hey guys, I am new to this forum and a new G37 owner.
I recently picked up a 2012 G37 IPL which has 62,000km ATM.
As a newbie, I got several questions:
1) My extended warranty tells me to follow the manufacturer's manual when doing maintenance in order to qualify for the warranty. Does this mean that I need to use OEM parts such as brake pads/rotors, air filters, carbon filter, tires etc. Also, is it okay for me to do maintenance by myself? For example, I am trying to change the air filters by myself because it is simple to do. Would any of these things cause a problem with my warranty or warranty in general?
2) My rear rotors are quite rusty, not on the part where my break pad and rotors meet but where the bolts and nuts are placed in the rotors. Is it necessary for me to change my rear rotors? They work fine and pads were recently replaced by the dealer.
3) why does G37 IPL show up as G37 base on Carfax? I thought it would be g37s IPL or G37 IPL premium?
4) At what km should I do a full inspection? Is it expensive to get a full inspection?
Thanks 😊

I would imagine that as long as you keep the receipts it would be fine for you to do your own work. And I would imagine that wear items aren't covered anyway so you can use whatever you want.
And I would replace the rotors with coated rotors. I have a Volvo that I don't drive too much and the rust from uncoated rotors spread to my pads, wheel bolts, calipers, and brake shields.
And that's just how it shows up on Carfax.
And you're supposed to do the inspection before you buy the car. Should be about an hours labor.
