Inheriting my Dad’s 2009 G37 sedan

What advice or information can any of you give me? I am going to get the vin # today to see which sub-model it is. It has 112,000 miles and he said all of the maintenance is up to date. Thanks in advance for any information.

Have the vehicle inspected by your local Infiniti dealer.
Was this a garaged vehicle or one parked outside for its entire life?
How old and what is the condition of the tires?
Have the brakes, brake fluid, and rotors inspected.
Have the entire exhaust system inspected.
Have the cooling system pressure tested and inspected. Hoses, fans, water pump, thermostat.
Even if no codes are stored or visible any needed parts and labor can add up quickly unless you can do all work yourself.

Good luck

I haven’t seen the maintenance records yet, but my Dad said the last major maintenance cost $3000.00. So, I am hoping everything is in order. I know this isn’t going to perform like my Corvette Z-06, that being said, are they fun to drive ?

I just picked up the car and it is a G37X. I drove it 11 miles home and it feels very tight and nimble for a sedan. So the next question, what types of mods can I do ? I am interested in both body and performance.

They are fun cars with a lot of aftermarket support. look around the sedan forum and you'll see what others have done with their cars. Lots of suspension, exhaust, etc mods available.
As a first mod I always suggest sway bars.

This. If you only ever buy one aftermarket part, sway bars would be it.

Just in case you need another, I'll be a 3rd for you. If you care about anything other than straight line speed, sway bars (anti-roll bars) are ABSOLUTELY the best performance mod aside from forced induction. This platform loves stiffening mods. If going with adjustable ones like Hotchkis, these cars like stiff front and softer rear settings. If you go too stiff in the rear its fun as hell to drift around, but it holds more grip with a med/softer setting.
