Looking at purchasing an '11 g37x with 46k on it from a dealership , test drove it yesterday and even tho it was very low tire preasure it handled very well and I wasn't prepared for the amount of power it puts out..
During the solo test drive I took it to my mechanic for a ppi down the road from the dealer who put a scanner and ran a full diag on it which came up with 17 different codes from the body control module.according to the mechanic this can happen if a battery has been reset or replaced and when checked sure enough a brand new battery was put in.
When I mentioned this to the dealer they wanted to have there mechanic take a look to see if there were definitely any problems and if the cost was going to be more than 800 or so dollars it wasn't worth the trouble of repairing they'd make no profit on it.
Really not sure how I want to approach this going forward as this is a rather large purchase for me and I want to make sure I do it right so I guess I'm asking the experts for reassurance or sound advice as to what to do from her.

Sounds like you might want to find something else. Did you run a Carfax report? Or call Infiniti and give them the vin.

 

I've already commenced abort procedures, after reading about the 11's and earlier gasket issues and going with my initial gut feeling I've decided to start negotiations with a vehicle I've seen for sale here.
