2013 g37s

Hi. Picked up a 13' 37S 6mt with 100k in Atlanta. Third owner and the car is in excellent shape. So far its got a new battery, I'm pretty sure it was still on the original. Added some K&N filters and a strut bar. Cleaned TB's and maf's.
Planning to add some test pipes, Tein H techs in the front with some kyb struts. Need to 3M window seal the diff bushing. Going to find some stiffer mounts for engine and diff. Looks like valve covers are seeping a bit too. Other than that I think I will leave as it is for a minute. Maybe also the Z1 intake manifold and a tune later on.

Coming from an 03 maxima 6mt so this should be a fun and very rewarding project.

I have a question though. On the vin this car is labeled 2013 G37 Journey/IPL? Confused about the IPL label. Is this when they transitioned from the G to the Q?

Thanks

That's not an IPL. Point in fact, it's not a Journey either. The 6MT was its own sub-model.

2014 was the year they rebadged the G37 Coupe to Q60.

My last car was also a 2003 Maxima SE 6MT. You make good choices.

Ahhh I see. Thank you for the insight and the link. I knew its not an IPL was just confused by the carfax vin description.

Love my maxima, learned every inch of her over the years and plan to keep her for ever but its time for a new project.

Thanks!

Z1 test pipes are solid. I've had mine on for a month now, no check engine light and you get some real gains. You will not get much gains with the intake manifold.

Thx man. I put the Megan test pipes in there. The sound is nice not too loud at all but now I can hear the engine. Just put in some NGK spark plugs and added some KYB + HTech's in the front. Next is new primary 02's I am experiencing some low end hesitation when warmed up. No codes but I think the 02's may be lazy in closed loop after 100k. Also getting SES from the test pipes so time for some defoulers. Will continue with the exhaust after I solve the hesitation.
