New G37 Owner, Need Recommendations
TO INFINITI AND BEYOND,
I purchased a 2010 Infiniti G37 Journey Sedan (Loaded) with 16,500 mi on it after my 18 Altima SR Midnight Edition was in 3 wrecks in a year and the 3rd one totaled it out (that car was cursed none of the accidents were my fault). I was looking for G's for a few years before I got my Altima but could never find "that one" and ran a 2010 Saab 9-3 Aero before it. So i figured screw it let me go see if there is any G's available within 500 miles so I drove my *** up to Birmingham Alabama from the Gulf Coast to get this beauty. It's got OEM wheels and tires and I drive over 30k miles a year I plan on keeping this baby forever and hopefully by 60k miles will have another vehicle to put the mileage on. I need to get new tires ASAP and am shooting for some Continental ExtremeContact DSW 225/55/17s but would like to find some "quality but cheap" rims to replace this ugly *** stock 17s. Looking at 18s staggered same tire.
I've been running 2.0s, 2.5s, and 3.5 ecoboosts for the past 10 years.... In my 3.7 I get some serious buck when my trans downshifts from 3rd to 2nd this doesn't happen all the time but enough to replicate the issue most of the time. RPMs rev up about 1k past the rev matching point when downshifting into 2nd causing the buck. I've started to basically use my brakes more by just braking harder instead of slow brake this alleviates the bucking and was just curious if this is normal or if I've got a gremlin that needs to be offd. To my knowledge the dealer didn't flush any of the fluids just your normal Infiniti Dealer oil change and inspection. They did claim the passenger airbag sensor needed to be replaced and supposedly replaced it before I was able to get up and purchase it.
Where's the best place to get some decent rims at a reasonable price my other option is keep stock wheels put tires on and get new rims when I burn these tires out and insert funds into some minor performance upgrades. Also any tips or must have performance mods for my G would be greatly appreciated.

Read, read, read. This site has twelve years of discussions about the G.
As for wheels and tire vendors, do I really have to mention Tire Rack and Discount Tires as starting points?

I think you can buy just about every wheel out there through https://www.getyourwheels.com/
Spend more than a little time on the forum. Like said, there's over a decade of info about this car, mods that work and look good, etc. Take your time.

Congrats. I used to live in Birmingham. Very nice looking and a very low mileage. I have currently over 120k.. and 17" stock wheels, 1st replacement used Michelin Primacy, then about 60 percent thread left got a side punctured.. I decided to replace all 4 after receiving road hazard credit with Goodyear Assurance Comfortred touring. I think Michelin performed better in rain compare to Goodyear but still all good.

First things I did to my Sedan were to upgrade the turn signals to LEDs (Lasfit for the front and Diode Dynamics for the rear) very classy mod. Get yourself a good set of sway bars, makes all the difference in the world. If your a little technically inclined I would suggest installing the GTR Paddle shifter that come on the sport model. Mine is a 6MT but I had a sedan 7AT before and I loved those paddles, adds to the fun. As far as wheels, the G37 coupe IPL rims look fantastic as well as the new Q60 red sport rims. I installed seats out of a G37 Coupe Sport because they're much more comfortable, sit lower, and are better bolstered.

No. The Coupe's sport seats sit lower, and are better bolstered. Which is exactly what you just quoted.
The Coupe seats are only more comfortable if you like the tight fit. If you prefer a more loose fit, then the Sedan's sport seats are less aggressive. And if you prefer a much more loose fit, then the Sedan non-sport seats are your best choice. Comfort is subjective. While I understand the appeal of the Coupe's sport seats, it's too much for me. Personally I prefer the sedan sport seats. While at the same time I find the sedan non-sport seating to be too flat & fat.
Apparently Ottomurph just installed Coupe Sport seats in his sedan. Here's his thread: https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...g37-sedan.html

The driver seat is plug and play. The passenger seat has to have the wiring harness replaced with the harness out of a regular sedan passenger seat. However both seats will bolt in no problem because they use the same rails.
