New G37x Owner - Noob Questions

Hi all, just got a black 2013 G37x with 37k miles today - pretty fired up coming from a 2008 camry. I bought it based on excellent reliability reviews and the awd (and truth be told the performance is a big plus, don't tell the wife!) What has everyone's experience here been with reliability? Do these cost more to maintain/repair (parts, schedule)? I understand this is a luxury car, but thought the reliability and possible parts sharing with Nissan could help.. Am I understanding this right, or way off base? Anything I should do at this mileage besides an oil change?

Welcome! My other car was also a 2008 Camry lol. So far so good. Differential, PS, and Brske Fluid are good to do every few years. Enjoy the car.

@KImChee Thanks for the reply - I was looking in the maintenance manual.. why would i replace the brake/power steering fluid on this? I mean if it's recommended, i'll do it, just curious..never had to do that in any of my older vehicles. If i drive it like the 39yr old dad that i am and hauling my kids around (MOSTLY civilized..heh) should i still do this? I was thinking just doing all the scheduled maintenance in the book up to next year to get a good baseline, throw some mobilONE in their and change every 4K.. does that sound reasonable?

Thanks @slartibartfast , i didn't see it when i was clicking around. Very helpful. My driver's door window "auto" up doesn't work (only normal ops), does this fall into the "bad switches" category? Also, i felt around under the front passenger carpet and didn't feel any moisture, it smells OK - is it pretty obvious if this car had/has this sunroof drain problem I'm suddenly seeing all over google?

@Gennifeur Nice! If you don't mind my asking, what did you pay? Mine was $15300 at a nearby dealer. No warranty unfortunately, so i'm sweating a little since i don't trust it quite yet. Can't wait for my mechanic to look it over. PS - props for the Beavis gif :P

You might try to reprogram the window switch. Procedure can be found in the DIY forum.

As for the sunroof drain problem, there's nothing sudden about it. It's been a recognized issue for nearly a decade.

@slartibartfast Sorry, i meant since i've been looking for this (not long), i've been seeing this leak thing all over now. I was just curious if there was an easy way to do a quick check for this issue. No obvious signs, the car smells pretty good. The Infiniti door sill light is out on the passenger side, which made me nervous since i read the fuse/wiring for that would be in the neighborhood of the wet areas.

I paid 18,200 (CA Bay area prices ugh) for mine and got insurance with gap (had my last one only for two days and it got totalled, should have ran over the dog, jk I love dogs, couldn't do it). It was supposed to be delivered today but got delayed. Have to wait until Dec 2nd now.

Just brought the Tesla Style Android unit, scheduled for all around and headlight and taillight tint, speakers, sub (not sure if I will place it in the spare tire compartment, custom box, or just a regular box yet). Bought plastidip for the emblems, tires and grill. I want it murdered!

Bought a ‘13x almost 2 years ago now with 30k on the ticker. The only things I’ve dealt with are a bad throttle body that went a couple weeks after I got the car and was repaired under warranty. Other than that normal maintenance is the only thing I’ve needed to do. The sunroof drain hasn’t been an issue for me but after heavy rains I just check the passenger footwell to make sure I’m still good. They’re fun reliable cars that aren’t too expensive to maintain. Enjoy it I’ve loved every single minute of it.

Dang you goin all in! 10 yrs and 2 kids ago id be considering the same. My order of carseat seat protectors just arrived for mine.. ha. I did throw in some K and N air filters though.. More power and mpg is always a win win. Yeah the head unit is OK, pretty dumb they don't put an aux jack or BT audio in the non nav.

That's good to hear! What are your thoughts on the fluid changes for power steering, brakes, transfer case? Do u get those done too? If I baby this thing (for the most part) im wondering if I need to get all that done.. Never had any other vehicles need it.

Only thing I’ve done is new brake fluid only because I upgraded to the big brakes so I flushed the system with new fluid. Haven’t touched anything else and have been fine. My service tech actually recommended to me the last time I was in for an oil change that I should think about flushing systems.
