New to the forum
Hello all! New forum member but moderately experienced g37 owner and enthusiast here. First off thanks to all the members, your good advice has come up in my many web searches over the years and it has helped me out a bunch of times with the car. I have a 12 g37x sedan blue slate on black with about 79k on it now. It's been the best car I've ever owned! I picked it up at about 30k miles three years ago, back east, for just under $20. I've owned 15+ cars in my lifetime, rarely kept one more then 2 years but this car is still a blast to drive, I still love my g37! It's reasonably fast, it handles pretty darn well, and the reliability has been great. It has gotten me to work on my own car (for some things), and use some of what my dad taught me and I've found with the correct tires, the AWD system works pretty good too. I've had it on some really steep grades mud and snow across the rural western US for family trips and camping and gigs, I'm planning to keep it to 150k and beyond now and have been addressing maintenance. I've thus far had the following done: Transfer case, transmission exchange, and both differentials at an Infiniti dealership about 500 miles ago. I changed brake fluid, power steering fluid, the coolant all with factory (or better for brakes) myself. I've also had the belt replaced with a Gates one about 2000 miles ago. New tires at 70k miles, I went with BF Goodrich Comp 2 AS in the stock 225/55/17 along with Centric 125 Cryo rotors front, 120 cryo rear, Akebono Yellow LE/fleet pads on all corners. (All of those have held up incredibly well in the past 10k btw for those needing good brakes or tires on the cheap). I routinely run Techron every 5k before oil changes with Mobil 1 5w-30 FS. Anything else I should be considering in the near future? I'm thinking plugs and struts are good until 100k or so but am open to advice to the contrary.

Welcome! I too plan on having my G fo a while as well. I’m not sure what the FSM says for spark plug replacement, but I just changed mine at 72K with oe plugs. The old ones did not look bad at all, but I did notice an improvement in performance and I now get 1.4 mpg better according to my trip computer. Well worth the $72 for Denso Iridium Plugs and there is a DIY thread here for Plugs and throttle body cleaning. Best of luck!

Just the fluids
Thanks, sorry I wasn't clear before, I just had the dealer do the fluid exchange on the trans to prevent issues down the road. So far I haven't had any drive-train issues in the car or any issues actually with the exception of my dash clock light burning out. The trans was shifting pretty good before, but it's much smoother now, shifts are quicker in manual mode and no noise or vibration from park to drive even when cold or on a hill.

GDaddyNY- Good advice, and thanks! I'll plan to do the plugs with the OEM Denso and a TB cleaning in the next 5k-10k miles. The manual says 105k miles on the plugs for the regular G's and 60k miles for IPL's but you're right for less then $100 in parts, it's worth being a little cautious and replacing before any failures.
