g37x brake upgrade help

Hey everyone I recently bought a 2012 G37x with 36k miles on it, and I feel like one of the rotors is warped because when I make a more aggressive stop or anything above 40 my steering wheel shakes and at first it wasnt so noticeable but now I feel it a lot more. Im asked my dealer and they said to replace just the front rotors and pads would be around $650. Now Id rather buy the pads and rotors and do it on my own.

I was looking at StopTech drilled and slotted kit. Im assuming these will fit, however I wanted some feedback on whether or not to get these and any other brakes that you would recommend.

BTW I tend to speed and make quick stops a lot...

Also if I were to bump my budget to $1200 and get a set of performance brakes would you recommend that ?

Sorry for the long thread Im just picky when it comes to my car. Thanks

Welcome to the site, glad you found us! As far as brakes, most of the time it's uneven pad deposits that is the cause for shuddering at speed. Before looking into new brakes I'd try to scrub the rotors w/ several aggressive slow downs. Go from 60 down to 10 pretty quickly (only in a safe place to do this), and then back up to 60 down to 10 about 5-6 times while NEVER coming to a full stop, then drive for 15 minutes w/ minimal braking to cool the rotors. After doing this take a drive and see if the shuddering is gone or alt least decreases. If this doesn't help, then look in to new rotors/pads.****If you have a Sedan you'll have 320mm front, 307mm rear rotors, if you have the coupe then you'll have a 330mm front & rear set. I'd look at Centric Premium Rotors, and Stoptech Pads if you're doing a lot of aggressive braking. The Hawk HPS 5.0 pads are an even better choice (just the 5.0 version) but if you have a sedan they don't make them for that setup HTHs, Brad

KNS is a good on site vendor, nice choice there. The regular HPS pads are decent, don't have the bite of the Stoptechs but should be better in regards to leaving pad deposits. It's too bad they don't make the 5.0 version for the X and Journey Sedans though, those have better bite than the HPS. Here's the Stoptech set at KNS too~ https://www.knsbrakes.com/c/car-seri...nce+Brake+Pads

Okay so basically I'm left with the choice of stop tech or hawk pads. I think I'll grab the stop tech ones. Once again thanks plenty for the insights!!

No problem, but I'd still trying that scrub first. And if you do need the need setup be sure to bed them in as per the companies procedure.

Each brake pad manufacturer has procedures to properly transfer new brake pad material on to the new raw rotor. Most low dust, low bite pads are good-to-go out of the box. Performance pads w/ better bite (and more dust) require bed-in of the pads to get the pad material evenly distributed on the fresh rotor. Here's a couple good link at Stoptech, one is the "warped rotor myth" and one is the bed-in process for their Street Pads. -Warped- Brake Disc and Other Myths ****Stock Brake System Bed-in

Thank these guys with a "Thanks" button to the right of their posts .

Let us know how the scrubbing goes and be safe out there. No one likes "that guy."
