Hello all,
I've been reading for a bit and thought I would jump in. From Omaha, NE and I purchased my 2013 G37x sedan back in March and have been stopping in here frequently trying to learn as much as I can. I went with the Obsidian Black and am up to 38k miles. I'm definitely working on the appearance right now. So far I've done the OEM rear deck lid and OEM splash guard - definitely feeling good about those additions.
My next improvements are Swift Springs, Hotchkis sways, and new wheels and tires. The wheels have been a very tough decision, but I think I'm going to go with the VMR V701 18x8.5 square setup. I'm thinking 225/50/18 all seasons for the tire measurements, but haven't made a final decision on the brand. I actually already have the springs and sways, but haven't had any luck finding a place to do the install. The only place in town that gave me a quote wanted $900. That sounds unreasonable, so if I can't find a better bid I'm probably going to end up giving them a try myself. (soooo if there is anybody out here from the Omaha area who could recommend any good shops, it would be much appreciated!)
At present I don't have any plans for mods under the hood, but it seems like once you start down the mod path it becomes addictive so I'm not ruling out the possibility down the road.
To all members, thank you for all your great posts that have helped me make some informed choices. I'm definitely looking forward to all the future upgrades.

Thanks Black Betty. It's been a pleasure so far and I'm going to be spending plenty of time in here going forward.
Thanks blnewt. Your input is very much appreciated. They have an ET35 which I think is the offset based on some previous reading in the Wheels & Tires forum. Now I think the current wheels are a 17x7.5 with a 45 offset and they seem a little tucked in if you can see that in some of the pictures. Do you think it would be a good idea to consider some spacers to bring the new wheels more flush with the side of the car?

G/L finding a reasonable shop, the DIY on the springs isn't too tough, and you can always remove your front shocks and take them to a shop, have them swap your springs, then you reinstall them. The spring compressing is really the only part of the install that can be problematic for some. Sways are an easy install, just be sure to have jack stands, and also a torque wrench for all the bolts. You may also need a rear camber/toe kit, so be prepared for that.

Yes, the ET35 would translate to a +35 offset, so your new 8.5 +35 would be 10mm further out w/ the new offset and another 13mm further out w/ the 1" wider wheel for a net +23mm further out. This will be a nice fit on the 245 width tires,. If you get them installed and after you do your spring drop then I would decide if you want any spacing, I doubt you will, should be a pretty good fit IMO.
