New G37xS in St. Louis, MO
Hey everyone, great site! I've been a member for a few months and posted a few times looking for advice when I was getting ready to order my wheels and tires but I never introduced myself.
Back in the beginning of March I got my first Infiniti, a Blue Slate 2011 G37x with a black interior. She had just under 56k miles on her and was clean as a whistle! Very well taken care of by the prior owner. I was gonna keep her stock but decided after a few weeks that she needed some new shoes so I started looking around for some bigger factory wheels. First I looked for 19's from the coupe, then some Q50S 19's, even searched for some 20's from the M37S/M56S. Couldn't find anything locally and what I did see on eBay and other sites were just more $$$ than I wanted to spend.
So I decided to start shopping for aftermarket wheels. I figured I could go with aftermarket 20's and tires for less than most factory wheels. After searching through 1000 different wheels and tires I finally decided on a set of black/machined Niche Verona wheels, 20 x 10 +40 with a set of 255/35/20 Kuhmo Ecsta 4X II tires. I also ordered some black tuner lugs, aluminum hubcentric rings, and an extra set of TPMS sensors.
Started getting everything delivered, anticipating the day I could get them mounted. Then the day after my wheels hit my doorstep this happens...
Ouch.
I was headed to work and another car and I decided to share a lane and merged into it at the same time. I got spun around and ended up clipping an 18-wheeler at about 70 mph. Car was totaled but I walked away with nothing more than a scratch on my elbow and a little soreness for a few days.
So now I'm stuck with a set of wheels and tires and no car to put em on. I started shopping for a new car. Thought about upgrading to a Q50 but after driving several they just didn't feel worth the premium over the G37. I started looking at the M37x as well and actually really liked them. I just couldn't find one that wasn't beat to death and in the price range I wanted to pay.
I was losing hope and was going to just keep driving my old beater that I still had from before the Infiniti but then I found another G online that was at a dealer about 100 miles away from my home. It was a 2011 G37x also but had the sport package as well. 53k miles on it, black on black. I loved the Blue Slate of my last one and wasn't really feeling the black but the price was right and decided to check it out. She wasn't quite as clean as the first one but still in very good condition overall. Long story short I took her home that day and got the wheels and tires mounted a few weeks later.
Enough with the story, here's what all of you have been waiting for, PICS!!!
Let me know what you think!!!

Ouch is right with that first picture. Thankfully you were okay that's what's most important. Really glad you chose to stick with a G and I'm loving the way those wheels look on your sedan.
Any more future plans on mods? Maybe a nice subtle drop to make the car tie together with the wheels?
Very nice introduction Brian and we hope to see you staying active on the forum! Any questions or concerns you may have just post them up in the appropriate sections and I'm sure many of us will be there to help out.

Hey Brian, so glad to hear that you walked away from such a horrendous crash. Looks like you found a nice replacement and going w/ a black G is a great choice (IMO).
Like Kenny mentioned, a mild drop would look proper. It's been a while but did we discuss some wheel stuff when you first signed up? Your user name sounds familiar??

Thanks everyone! No plans at this point for any more mods, I kicked around the idea of a mild drop but for now I'm happy with how she sits. I might do that in the future though.
Yep, you gave some good advice when I was shopping for the wheels, thanks!
