Is PERL a good product for that area by the review mirror?

Would PERL be a good product / polishing choice for that area where the outside rear view mirror attaches to the door? Something to keep it black and not faded?

See that area where the outside rear view mirror attaches to the door? Any suggestions for a product that will keep that black and not faded? Maybe PERL?

I've heard good things about Perl but as to a comparison for another good product this link should help you determine your choice. I can imagine how much that piece bugs you everytime you look at your car. Very beautiful G btw and hope I was able to help
