New to the G37 forum
Thought I would take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Paul and I just bought a 2012 Moonlight White G37 Sedan for my wife at the end of December. I should be soon to follow sometime this year with a G37 Sedan of my own.
Cars are a passion of mine. From Daily Driving, drag racing, auto-x, road courses, maintaining to detailing. I like to keep my cars running in top spec
I have owned 4 A-chassis Nissan/Infinitis and 3 others are currently in the family. I have had a 90 SE Maxima, 96 SE Maxima, 02 SE Maxima, and a 02 Infiniti i35. Here are a few shots...
My 4th gen Maxima really got me into taking care of my cars. Some of you from Maxima.org my remember my handle and the car. I definitely got all I could get out of that car and then some. From the mods to the racing to the maintenance to the detailing, that car literally had me all over the country.
My wife has been driving my modded 02 Maxima for the past 4 years and it was time to get her into something a little more sophisticated. I basically told her what she was getting (G37 Sedan) and she went along with it. I let her decide on colors and the search was on. She opted for the Moonlight White on Wheat interior. Wood dash was also a must. After combing the internet for a few weeks one showed up about an hour away that was worth a look. Needless to say we drove it home that night.
Got her settled in next to her roommate...
Well after 4 days of ownership a deer decided to run out in front of our new ride and cause ~$10k worth of damage. Its still in the shop with hopes of getting her back before the end of the month. Luckily my wife was unharmed other than being shaken up from a 50mph collision and of course her new car being smashed up.
I do not intend to go crazy modding this car. (Might save that for when I pick up one of my own). However, I did get it scheduled for 3M Crystaline tint. I ordered the OEM all weather mats from the forum sponsor Grubbs. Also picked up a set of the OEM prepainted splash guards. I'll eventually get the sub and amp moved over from my wife's silver Maxima.
Living in the Mid-Atlantic the winter is hit or miss. Being that I opted to not get the X model I did pick up a set of Blizzak WS-80 to put on once the car comes back from the shop.
I'll be doing the maintenance and work on the car myself so I look forward to being part of the forum and contributing where I can.
That's my story!

Superb intro Paul, looks like you have a Nissan/Infiniti museum in your garage & driveway
Nice to see those G35 19s on your Maxima too.
Sorry to see you already banged up that G but seems like you're not afraid of a challenge.
G/L and look forward to your plans for your wifes' G and you future model.

Good news! Car is back from the body shop...only took 7 weeks and $12k
Got right to putting all the little goodies I had bought for her on...Carsmo *****, OEM Rubber Mats, OEM Splash Guards, 3M Crystalline tint is scheduled for Thursday.
***** were very easy to install and made a huge difference if you ask me. The splash guards weren't too bad either, just took my time, got the mocked up and drilled a couple holes. I prefer the look and certainly the function of protecting a little from gunk getting slinged up the side of the car....especially white.
I put the OEM rubber mats in all my cars and usually keep them in all year. I can see the tan color is going to need constant attention to keep them looking presentable.

Right now I just have the tint on the books.
I've been dropping hints to my wife to see if she wants this car lowered and wheeled up. If I can get her on board I have been looking at the Fortune 500 coil overs and coupe 19's.
We'll see how it goes. She drove a slammed Maxima for 5+ years and is really liking the plush ride of a stock suspension.

Alrighty...after months of searching for a car that fit my wants, I came home with a new car yesterday!
2012 Journey Sedan with Sport Package. Graphite Shadow on Stone interior. 22k miles.
It was really hard to find a RWD S car so I had this one sent up from TX. 1 owner car, lived its life in Louisiana.
I am a pretty hard line black on black car guy but after all the years I was ready for but of a change. As I mentioned earlier my wife was also a black on black car gal so when she sent me on the search for a white on wheat I was pretty shocked.
After owning the car for 24 hours I can tell you there are some definite differences between the RWD non-sport and RWD sport. In comparison the sport package has all things that I was looking for in a car...the seats are snug, I'm 5'8"/155 and they grip me pretty tight. The brakes are a delight. I lower and tune in the suspension on all my cars and the sport suspension rides firm enough that I thinking I may not have to mess with it for a while. Not a fan of wheel gap so we will see how long that lasts. The steering is very precise compared to the non-sport. The non-sport looks great but I love the sport front bumper and side skirts. Gives it a nice mildly aggressive touch.
One thing that I regret not getting in my wife's car is the Navigation Package. None of the regret is around the actual navigation. The screen looks better, the bluetooth audio connectivity and a clock is worth it alone! We always use our phones for Nav and stupid me for overlooking the other features.
On the way home from the dealer I stopped at the tint shop and set an appointment for Crystaline 50 next week. Ordered a font license plate bracket since the dealer just screwed the plate right into the bumper. This car came with the OEM rubber mats, which I put in all my cars but I went ahead and ordered some carpet mats just to have. Also got the interior lighting kits for both cars, I think it will add a nice touch. It was missing the first aid kit so I also nabbed one of those....thanks Grubbs Infiniti!
Last night I noticed the analog clock does not illuminate...seems like a somewhat common problem. Called the nearest Infiniti dealer (1 hour away) and got on the schedule to have it warrantied next week.
Enough of my babble, on with the pics....

Thanks!
Did the first oil change on the white car. Not too bad, pulled the 4 bolts off the back of the undershield and everything is right there. I read up for a couple days on what oil to use and decided to go with Pennzoil Platinum. Might send off a sample at the next oil change to see how it did. I have no clue what has been used by the previous owner or dealer.
Got my car tinted with 3M Crystalline 50% last week. Looks nice. Also put the Carsmo ***** on mine as well. They look equally as good on the brushed trim.
Ordered the OEM interior lighting kit for both cars should be able to get to those next weekend. Also ordered the supplies to get our subwoofers hooked up to the stock bose system, hope to also squeeze that install in this weekend as well.
Got caught up one night detailing the engine bay on my car...nothing fancy...
My neighbors think I'm nuts pulling out q-tips and toothpicks to work under the hood!

Welcome to the G world. This is a nice thread you have here. I also came from a nissan to an Infiniti (Altima to G37). I cleaned my engine bay this past week but not with a q-tip :P
