Newbie - Any known issues with 2012 G37 Convertible?
Hi all , I'm new to this forum and not a DIY-er... but love fast performance cars
I've been driving a BMW Z4 for the last several years and loved it - only parted after a car accident when the repairs exceeded the cost of the car.
So I'm on the market for a new car. Just test drove a 2012 G37 CPO convertible at the local dealer (~25kmiles, automatic, premium package - yeah I like my autos). Very nice performance and handling!
I'm seriously considering this car. A couple questions for the been-there, done-that Infiniti owners (please feel free to point me to prior or existing threads on this forum) -
- any known problems I should be aware of? Every problem will mean dealer or other repair shop for me since I don't do it myself... transmission? roof? anything else?
- what price would you expect? Looks like trade-in is around $27k-28k.
- I've seen on this forum that people complain about the roof getting stuck often and/or rattles. Is this a frequently seen problem with the 2012 model? I'm in California and would hope to use the convertible as it's meant to be used often.
- is the warranty any good? I've read the book and it obviously states "mechanical breakdown not wear and tear". CPO gives me 6yrs/100k miles so I'd get 3 years on this car.
Anything else I should consider or look out for if I plan to keep it at least until the 6yr warranty runs out? My other choice is a CPO 2012 BMW 328i convertible but I like the G's handling and HP better!
Thank you!
