Big smile!

I do not recall smiling as much after purchasing any new or used car in my life as when I left the dealership last Thursday night with my "new" used 2009 G37 S convertible (well maybe the very used 1966 mustang fastback when I was 18 years old), but that would be the only other purchase that left a huge grin on my mug.

How did this happen? My wife and I have been riding motorcycles touring the USA and Canada on each vacation or long weekend. We loved riding the Rocky Mtns, the Florida Keys, Mt Evans, Pike Peak, Niagra Falls, Canada.. it was what we looked forward to doing whenever we could. We were always on the bikes. Official members of the IRONBUTT organization. In the past couple of years as we age we have ridden less and less. My wife traded her bike for a used pontoon boat and my GL1800 mostly sits under the carport.

We bought a new Ford Flex Limited so the wife could load up the grandkids and take them to the beach and on short excursions and we really like the technology that is built in the Flex not to mention the room. Saturday night a week ago, we almost decided to ride my bike to North Carolina for lunch for the day (we live in Alabama). I surprised her by renting a Mustang convertible from Budget Rental and we had a blast riding that bright yellow sports car to North Carolina for a road trip! My wife loved riding in a convertible so I started researching and looking for a more luxurious used convertible sports car. I knew I needed a hard top so I strictly started looking at all used hard top convertibles that had some room for me (6'2" and 275!). I almost decided on a Lexus 250 but then I spotted this Infinity. I loved the curves on that body! The interior was delicious! The technology for a 2009 was superb! I drove this black on black G37S convertible and fell completely in love with this car. I purchased it within and hour of first seeing it and drove it home that night.

The wife and I took a spin and then she started calling it HER CAR!!!! I explained the Flex was hers and the Infinity was MINE! She and her sister went to visit her mother today in Lithia Springs, Ga...damn if she did take the G37S! Tomorrow she goes to work so I am going to be riding in the G car with the top down!

I am glad I found this forum...I promise to never post anything this long again! But when you are in love you are in love!

Good stuff and welcome!!! There is definitely something about a droptop. I love my Miata for that very same reason.

Let her take the Infinity and you drive the Infiniti ;0

Did you buy it from an Infiniti dealer? If so they may take care of it for you or give you a discount on the charge, not sure what it would cost though

If you bought it from somewhere else it wouldn't hurt to take it to the nearest Inifniti dealer and just see what they say, maybe while you have them change the oil or some small service to let them know you'll be giving them business, worth a shot.

I bought it from a used luxury import car lot in Birmingham Al. I did call the local Infiniti/Mercedes dealership and gave them the VIN# to see if the Infiniti extended warranty was available....wow..expensive! I plan on doing some research on the "bumper to bumper" aftermarket warrantywhich the used lot that I purchased it from suggested (about half the price of the Infiniti). I know you have to be really careful with aftermarket warranty...Ive heard some horror stories, not to mention the profit they make on it. My gut tells me I will probably end up with the Infiniti warranty (very afraid of the convertible workings in the trunk!).

I am also going to get a price on the Infiniti dealership's prepaid service agreement, it has some interesting benefits, but I haven't gotten the cost yet.

Thanks for the comments about my....and my wife's G37S convertible. No mods in mind yet for it, I don't need it any FASTER cause I could lose my license real easily with this thing!

I am just reading the manual and using trial and error to find out as much as I can about the car and trying not to break anything.
