Talking New G37 Owner dropping in!!

Hi there,

Ive been browsing here for the past week I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. This site is wonderful and helped me a lot! So im 24 in the Atlanta area. First car was a 1999 honda accord, I got rear ended pretty bad in 2009 which totaled the car. I used the insurance money to buy myself a 2002 BMW 330Ci which had 112k miles on it. About a week ago the alternator went out on the bmw, it now has 189k miles on it so I figured it would be a good time to get rid of it before it becomes a money pit (already had cooling problems).

I was actually really close to getting a couple year old M3 but I convinced myself it would be a poor decision right now. I didn't want to put that many miles on a nice sports car and really needed a reliable commuter vehicle right now for work. I decided the sports car should be my weekend vehicle so maybe that will come next year. Anyways I was shopping around and test drove this 2009 G37. I absolutely loved it, man does this thing pull compared to my 330! I've always loved the look of the coupe but if im getting a sports car later, this would be my practical sedan. The interior feels so much more luxurious than my old bmw. The 2009 G37 has 110500 miles on it BUT, looking at the carfax, it had 38 freaking service records FROM the dealership. This thing was absolutely babied and looks almost new still. Paid 14,500 out the door. I think its the Journey model and has the bose sound system, navigation, backup camera etc.

So im in this thing all the time now, I always want to drive it haha. I plan on modding it a little bit definitely. I already installed the white LED kit from Diode Dynamics. The glove box was kind of a bitch but got it. I havent even attempted the city lights because the tutorial I was following required you to jack the car up. Is that true? Everything else was easy.

I also ordered a K&N 69 Series Typhoon Intake system and the Eibach springs from Autoanything.com. P.s those guys are awesome! Theyre shipping the springs out later than they first thought they could so theyre send me a free recharge kit for the intake for waiting a few extra days, without me even noticing or doing anything! It should all be here soon.

I want to get the car a little sportier looking. Nothing too crazy just want to add a little class and sport if that makes sense? I read the Eibachs give you that drop without sacrificing ride quality too much. I dont mind a harsher ride since im used to my bmw coupe if it does effect the ride.

The only thing im stuggling with is if I want a sportier front end, would I need a whole new bumper or does a lip kind of just bolt on to my existing bumper? So is this what I need and would it be compatible? I don't think I have the sports bumper but want to double check. What do you guys recommend?

Infiniti parts

Not sure if I want to do wheels right now, that may come later, i'll see how it looks after the drop.

Sorry for the novel. Glad to be here! Check out my pics and make a wish

Nice intro and good looking Sedan. Those split-spoke 18" wheels are the nicest looking OEM 18s IMO. Enjoy the site and your new "sports sedan"

Hey Welcome!

Stock cars are just the start to a fully modded one without you even knowing.

You should join the ATL Gs, its a big group. We just had two events in the last two weeks, and over 40+ Gs came out. PM me for more details.

Best of luck!

Wow, two new Atlians yesterday and both of us (I'm the other one) were considering an M3.

We have a 2013 & I am content with the front end on it, but if I had the 2007-2009 style, without a doubt, I'd have the chrome DRL's across those two huge black holes of nothingness across the front end.

Example:

I get it, a lot of people don't like chrome. On a black car I think you could rock these in silver or anything in the grey tones.

Of all OEM Infiniti wheels, yours are among my favorite and not that common, so I personally wouldn't change them. Anyway, welcome & enjoy.

Wow 110k miles is a lot. I think I would have found something with less miles but if your happy that is all that matters. Good choice on skipping the M3. Way too expensive to maintain and they ride like ****!!!

Welcome. I'm a new owner as well.

I just ordered my DD full light kit today. I did see that glove box one was a pain but ordered it anyways. I'm hoping that City light isn't as hard as you found but I guess I'll find out soon.

I'd like to hear how you like the K&N as that is one of my next upgrades. But I just can't decide on which one to get. I'm leaning towards the K&N at this point. My neighbor had a G35 and said it was really good and the extra sound was great. I'm not wanting to get one of the long tube, just doesn't seem like all the trouble to take off the front end just to install those. So keep me updated on that.

Nicky small world! And GAWD those DRLs are pretty sweet, maybe not chrome but silver or black would look nice. Any idea where you can buy them from?

Also I was looking at this for the front spoiler lip, what do you guys think? Any experience with this site? I have no idea what I need for my specific car to make the front bumper a little sportier. Front Lip

And Diode Dynamics, the LEDs are sweeeet!! Really liking the license plate and all.

And Brian will do, Im not going to be tracking it or anything so went with the default shorter tube for easier install. Everyone I talked to seems to love the K&N, im mostly getting it for the sound and hopefully improve gas mileage to let the engine breathe easier. I honestly havent tried the city lights really, it was getting late after the glove box and was like ehh ill do the city later. Can you guys point me in a good city light install guide for an 09?

Welcome, congrats on the purchase! I think it was a smart move to skip the M if you're looking for reliability, and the G still pulls pretty strong even stock considering what it is.

Guys, so I think I want to buy the front lip kit soon but im not sure which one I need. Should I get the sport or non sport version? Im confused if my car comes with the default non sport lip already and id be buying the same thing? So would the sport chin be compatible or is the non sport still a sportier upgrade that just fits on my bumper? Here is what im looking at --> https://www.tunerzstore.com/OEM-Infi...5-chin-spoiler

Yours currently has no lip, the non sport lip is like the last pics above on the white G. I have this lip on mine and it's a good upgrade. Click on my garage for more pics of it.

Ahh that makes sense, I didn't realize the sport version of this car had a different front bumper. Non-sport front lip it is then! Possibly the oem back spoiler too and midnight grill. Itll look so much better after I get this drop done. CANT WAIT

Thanks for the help everyone, ill post some pics once everything comes in.

PS blnewt your car is sex. But i didnt see any pics of the front bumper in your garage! Only see 4 pictures
