I do not know about that, but I do know that 100 bucks is not as significant as the potential savings you can realize by timing your purchase so that you maximize the term and mileage extensions available to their fullest (for the same cost as if you hadn't).

Buying at the end of the outer threshold limits of whatever 'tier' you're in (or even waiting until the end of the next tier) will mean you get the same pricing as if you were at the beginning of that 'tier', but you will now enjoy a warranty that lasts longer and for more miles.

Some people wait until they get nearly to the end of their factory warranty, and then can end up with a warranty option that covers them clear out to 8 years/120K miles. I believe you pay far less for that 8yr/120K combo than if you bought it when you were at one year old and 20K on the odometer, yet the total coverage is the same.

Of course, the same theory applies for shorter term warranty options; they still get maximized just the same. I can't recall all the details exactly, but if it is still like it was a few years back, it's well worth a serious looking into. If you REALLY want a good deal on an extended warranty, sometimes the best thing you can do is wait.

Don't know if this would apply, since its hard to pro-rate a warranty when you want it. But i bought my g37 a few weeks ago and paid cash, i'm currently renovating my place and ended up getting a loan to my name for this car and adding them as the lien holder and they asked about warranty; i figured it would be high but this car was classified as a basic vehicle to them. So i got 5 year coverage up to 100k miles for $1395.00 for my 2008 g37 with 46k. She said they would mail me more info on this, but it was essentially a bumper to bumper set up. I imagine brakes, clutch linings and poor judgement would void this otherwise blown motors, loose ball joints, leaking oil pans are all covered at the dealer or shop with zero deductible. Pretty relieved since my car is out of warranty.

https://penfed.org/Route-66-Extended-Warranty/

A Route 66 Extended Warranty policy can extend the manufacturer's warranty by picking up where that policy leaves off. It can supplement the manufacturer's warranty by providing services such as towing, rental reimbursement and roadside assistance when that warranty is still in effect and then also cover repair costs after the warranty expires. A Route 66 Extended Warranty policy is a vehicle service contract that protects members from the high cost of future repairs. It is priced lower than extended warranties offered by auto dealerships. The premium is made affordable by adding it to the loan, thus spreading the cost over the length of the loan.

Affordable protection with a 60 day free look
$0 deductible
Includes 24-Hour roadside assistance
Expanded coverage for vehicles with high mileage (over 100,000)
Reduces out of pocket expenses for unexpected repairs
Up to $250 Rental car reimbursement in the event of mechanical breakdown of a covered component

Easy Street

Vehicles are eligible for the Easy Street Level of Coverage if they are 8 Model Years Old or Newer and have 75,000 miles or less on the odometer.

Coverage: 5 years or until the odometer reaches 100,000 miles; whichever comes first.

Pricing:

Standard Vehicles - $1,395
Premium Vehicles - $2,395
Hybrid Vehicles - $2,395

Thanks,

Appreciate your insights here! I completely agree, likely it will prove best to wait until i edge closer to the 40-49k mile tier to wait to lock in a warranty. I'm right at 31k miles now. So likely towards the end of the summer.

If i mount HFCs on my car or an intake? Will a dealer from afar have a problem with this? Do they demand pictures of my odometer? Not sure of the verification process they go through exactly.

Hey Brett, congrats & welcome to the site

For extended warranty I would suggest contacting Courtney @ Infiniti of Scottsdale. I found this to be the lowest pricing.
The coverage will start from the "in-service" date so if you are really planing to get the warranty I wouldn't wait because it might just be more expensive due to the car mileage and the rates going up. Also, you might have to pay a fee to have the G inspected to see if it qualifies for the extended warranty.
I didnt have to pay for an inspection because it was within 30 days of the purchase.
The other thing I would suggest is make sure is an Infiniti warranty not a third party warranty.

Brett, unless your car is basically new, they WILL require an inspection at a dealership to verify its condition. The inspections usually take an hour or so and cost around $150 (+/- 50). I would imagine that they would not approve of in/ex mods, but you could verify that by calling a dealership and asking.

Just found a quote of $2150 from the scottsdale infiniti. But they said if you want the warranty you have to go to your local dealer and they inspect the car...my guess is they wouldn't take too kindly to an exhaust, HFCs or intake!

Just spoke to them...

They wouldn't go lower than $2600 LOL!!

I'm sticking with Ray Catena, locally they will do it for $2150 with tax.

They had to match the figures provided by Scottsdale infinti ($2150). Other than that, Circle Infiniti (NJ) and Nashua Infiniti were both priced around $2250-2300.

They will fax me the paperwork in a bit, and i can skip the inspection because it's within 30 days of purchase? Sweet.

Thanks for all your help guys i'll let you know how it goes!

Congrats Brett, nice that you got past the pre-inspection!

Just out of curiosity, what were the terms for that price (i.e. Months/Mileage/Deductible) ??
