STi to G37x

Howdy everyone. I wanted to take the time to introduce myself to you all and say hello. I just picked up a 2012 G37X sedan and i'm in the process of formulating what I want to do to it. I'm coming from a 2012 STi and, from what you can tell from the photos, I like to make my rides stand out a bit.

I'm hoping to keep everything simple and clean.
I plan to have the following done by spring:
- Swift springs
- Some type of 20 inch rim - looking for a squared set up with a polished lip of sorts.Don't want to spend more than 2g's on the wheels.
- Tint - getting that done today
- Rear roof spoiler.
- Some type of rear lip
- Tunabe exhaust
- Painting the headlight housing - Thanksgiving weekend hopefully
- Sport bumpber??
- Upgrade to the sport brakes.

Thanks for looking.

STI looked clean man, what made you decide to make the switch (hopefully you still have manual.....)?

AWD = Auto

I am also very interested to hear the reasoning behind the switch.

Nice Sube, bet that was a blast to flick around. Sounds like a good list for your G. As far as wheels, check our classifieds, some nice deals over there quite often. Might also consider Fortune 500 coilovers, seem to be getting about the best reviews for the X.
BTW, that photo in the woods is very cool.

I just came from a 08 STI to the G37xs coupe. Still going through STI withdrawal but it's nice to have a sunroof, auto, a stereo I can actually hear and heated seats.

Out of curiosity what did you have done to you STI? I was full stage 2 with 318whp my fastest time was 12.75 @ 106.90mph.

It was a pure joy to flick around, but i just grew out of it and wanted something a bit more cushy. And i'm glad you liked that photo, i took it about two weeks ago and just got lucky with the weather. As for the Fortune 500 coil overs, i'm trying to stay away from coil overs this time around. My last 5 cars have all had decent set ups and i'm tired of the random pops, cricks, and thunks.

I went with the precision over power route because where I live, the highest speed limit is 55 and we have tons of amazing back roads. I probably spent more on my suspension than most do on a full motor build, but it was nice to know I still had a mildly reliable engine that could out perform 350+ hp subarus on a circuit. Kept the engine relatively stock to keep on the good graces of subaru and to ensure it didn't grenade itself. My mods are (still have it in the garage for sale):

Just got Hotchkis sways and a Cusco strut brace for front on my XS Coupe and it is so much more like my stock STI was so I highly recommend getting sways if you haven't yet you will not be disappointed. I wish I got these as my first mod if I did I probably wouldn't have missed my STI as much.

Welcome to the G scene! This year I was seriously contemplating moving to the STI, so it's good to see your move reinforce my decision to keep my G.
