New to MyG37, but not forums or Nissan.
Hello Gentlemen, nice place you got here. When I first got my G, I signed up on the boards as kind of a, "I know I'm gonna be all over this place soon" move and then honestly the car sat only until the weekends. I have a company van through Comcast, so this car replaced my 05 330Ci ZHP as a weekend fun car. I've been on several forums before, for every car and hobby I've been a part of, so I understand good forum etiquette and I promise you won't have an issue out of me!
So now that we've sniffed butts, on to the car pr0n. Although it's not much, please be patient as I've only had the car a short time.
It's a Pearl White 2008 G37S 6MT w/o Nav.
Before rear spacers to remedy some of that Titanic offset
After, now much better.
Pearl still in great shape. Also has a clear bra on the front from the dealer.
Also, no stranger to the drift scene.
Anyway, that's a brief intro but feel free to ask anything. I will be looking around for an Ark Grip that's for sale, and possibly some intakes. That's probably it for a bit, as I want to replace a couple home theater components shortly as well.

Welcome to the forums. Now that I know you have an affiliation with comcast, we can never be friends. But then I looked at your cars and etiquette and decided to change my mind I like the mods you have so far, spacers and tint make it look even sexier. I'm looking forward to see what you do next.

Thank you sir. Yea I mod a couple forums so I know the PITA it can be when some idiot can't even spell, yet wants everything handed to him on a platter. Second thing I do on a forum is locate the search button and check out functionality.

How absent-minded of me. I totally forgot to add the brake upgrade I recently did.
Here I ordered StopTech Slotted for the front, and Centric premium blanks in the back. I went premium in the back because the hat was black to match the STs in front. No point for slotted in rear because I'm not tracking the car, nor do I yank the handbrake in the event of a drift initiation. Also, Centric PosiQuiet Ceramics all around because I love the lack of brake dust!
Only showing pics of the front, because it's bigger, and no one cares about back brakes unless you have a cool dual caliper setup.

It was completely in jest I assure you I have actually had comcast for ages and have really nothing to complain about, but thanks for the offer. As a matter of fact, I would even go as far as praising them as far as my service is concerned. It still won't stop me from getting google fiber if that ever gets here tho.
Sorry to hear about your IT gig, I would love to work for NASA (I think) I'm in IT myself. I guess Infiniti's research showing that the IT crowd was into these cars is true.

And I totally agree with you as far as Google is concerned. We sent people up to Kansas City to help push our X1 platform ahead of Google coming into town but so far we haven't seen too much of a hit since they've only done a few neighborhoods, not a whole city. It'll be interesting for sure, and competition sometimes brings prices down. I think what Google is charging is fair, but hopefully it'll bring everyone on their level.
And yea, I was never a big fan of the G35, but when I first saw the G37 I thought it was a very sharp looking car. I just can't wait to find an Ark Grip Exhaust so I can really hear the music this thing emits.

The grip was actually one of my first choices for exhausts. I read they can hang too low for some people tho depending on your road conditions and if you plan on lowering etc. Ended up getting a deal on the Invidia and haven't looked back.

I got to see how it looks clearance-wise, and I'm not too scared. If need be, I know a couple friends that could get crafty with a MIG and do some adjustments to the angles of those cans to tuck up a bit more. I think it's worth it because I love the sound and aggressive look. I'll research Invidia's system just for the heck of it, though.

I'll not bash you for working for Comcast because I know you must already get that almost every day of your life working for such a hated company. All their issues are not your fault personally nor can you solve them all. Everybody needs a paycheck. So best of luck dealing with that, maybe you can make some degree of positive difference. Someday an alternative provider of cable internet will be available where I live and it won't be a frustrating factor in my life anymore.
Welcome to the forum and congrats.

Ok, so the ZHP is about 100 less horsepower and obviously feels like it from a raw acceleration standpoint. I'm not going to compare power stats, more driving experience because that is the absolute biggest difference that is night and day.
When you get into a ZHP, especially with Alcantara interior like I had, it fits like a memory foam glove. Seating position, view point, everything is ideal. This is what you see.
Now, it's pretty simple like most German cars are and that's fine because you'll find yourself looking at apexes, not gauges. The best thing about this car is the feedback it gives you. Take for instance in our cars, the shift in a 6MT has a constant vibration. Kinda feels like it's a more raw feeling of connection between you and the machine. You can feel it working, and know you once you break 3k RPMs that all that glorious torque is there and you're ready to launch. You never feel the shifter in the BMW until it's time to shift. Not that you don't have your hand on it, I mean throughout the RPM band, the shifter is isolated from any vibration so it just feels like it's disconnected UNTIL it's time in the upper RPMs to shift. You don't watch the revs, you just have your hand on the shifter, and when it get's above 6k, you feel a slight bit of haptic feedback, and then it's time.
I cannot stress enough how cool this is. Coming from me who has done track days, it is an awesome thing to not have to worry about listening for RPMs or looking down at the tach. You just feel when it's time, and then you know.
As far as suspension goes, it's pretty well behaved like the G, but just more finesse. The transition from turns isn't snappy, nor is it's violent. It seems like those tool box drawers, that no matter how you slide it in, it just stops itself before it slams and gently closes. Turn in is very proper, traction control does it's job to keep you out of trouble but even with it off it's very forgiving and lets you know you're approaching the limit. It DOES NOT however have any type of LSD like ours do, though. Only M cars do. Now with similar profile tires you would think it would be loud like our cars are as well, but it's not. Those Bimmers are so well insulated you only hear the Harmon Kardon stereo, a deep exhaust note when accelerating, and a bit of engine when you hit higher RPMs. Now, that could also be the tires, but you can tell how much the car is keeping out when you roll the windows down at 65mph.
I absolutely loved the car, and only sold it because I wanted to keep to my plan of spending a couple years with a car, and moving to the next. Later on, I'll buy another Alpine White ZHP just so I can keep that thing around. I had a drift 240 with an RB25DET that would break tires loose whenever I wished with a full suspension and diff, but that ZHP was more fun to drive.

S14 Zenki from the beginning with a CA18DET.
Then paint (First stage)
No I didn't hit, just giving rides and I wanted to clip that cone to scare the passenger a little, lol.
The CA
I've always liked experimenting with offset.
Then final version, Mercedes Indium Grey with Vertex Lang Kit.
Probably the most fun was a practice drift event in the rain.
Also with RB25DET in now.
Yes, they're Hotwheels
Did this in 11.5hrs because I had an event the next day. Nothing pretty, but functional.
And my sig for my other forum
