nOOb Owner of 2008 G37s
First time poster on this forum, but I've been lurking since the new year or so. I picked up a 2008 G37s 6MT coupe (~40k miles) at the beginning of Feb. It's been a wonderful couple months so far. I was coming from an automatic '05 Civic, which was the car I learned on.. and aside from a 20 min driving session in my buddys '97 stick shift Accord, I had never driven manual before. Learning on the G has been amazing.. I feel like driving is a brand new experience, kinda like I'm 16 again haha.
Before doing any mods, I plan to do all the 40k mile maintenance items because even though the car checked out clean, the dealer didn't have any maintenance records really. I actually recently learned/did my first oil change personally on the G (the same buddy who took me in his accord also taught me how to do oil changes last week on my G) and I have kinda fallen in love with the act of working on the car myself. So, I'm gonna try to do any maintenance myself if its possible.
After that's done, first up are tints and I'll go from there lol. From what I've read so far on this site, looks like you all have a wealth of information. I'm lookin forward to interacting

Welcome to the forum. One of my favorite things about this car is how easy it is to do most mods yourself. I suggest you look through the DIY section and find all the maintenance you can do. Have fun

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the sense of community I've seen so far on this forum.
cecrops - the ability to tinker with/mod the G yourself is def one thing that drew me to it since I knew I wanted to learn more about cars mechanically. already started browsing the DIY section.. def a lot of info available.
blnewt - yep I really think I did find the car made for me. I looked at every sports/sporty 2-door car from older cars to newer cars and the G had the best combination of performance/luxury/practicality/affordability for me.
I also had a question for anyone. I did a search and found a good link (on infinitihelp.com), but am still a bit confused.. The VIN for my car lists it as a 2008 G37 Journey/Sport. I know it has a sport package features because it has the 19-inch wheels and is manual. It also has navigation and all, but it doesn't have a 6 disc changer.. I thought that was stock on Journey's? Does anyone know whether my car is a Sport with some sort of Journey package or Journey with a Sport package? (doesn't really matter, but just curious)
Thanks again.

skmonsta - Thanks yo! I also considered getting a white one as they look very sleek. But my aunt has a '09 g37x in white, so I wanted to get something different.. Plus, blue is my favorite color and once I found one in athens blue in good condition, I was pretty much sold lol
Gio37 - Thank you very much! I'm gonna be very happy DIY'n for the next week or 2 haha
