G37 or 370Z
im getting a new car soon and was thinking about the g37 coupe Sports or the 370z nismo. i really like the 370z but it only has 2 seats while g37 coupe has 4 seats but is really crowded. i feel as in the future i will be needing to take more than one person with me but i feel like the 370z matches me more. Should i get a 370z and forget about bringing more than one person with me or g37 and bringing friends along ? PS. i really like the g37 too but feel as if it doesn't match me

It really depends on needs and personal taste.
From my experience, the rear seats in the G37 leave a lot to be desired. Most everyone who's had to sit in the back seat commented on the lack of head-room. Don't get me wrong, nobody (thus far), has had to bend their necks or anything of the sort to fit in but I certainly wouldn't recommend going on a long road trip with someone in the back. Or if you do, be sure to stop every so often so your passengers can have a good stretch aha!
If you have long legs (like myself) or just prefer to sit further back while driving, it makes for a very awkward ride if someone needs to sit behind you (driver side). Leg room can easily become an issue.
On a positive note, they come in handy for extra storage space. I was able to fit three tires (245/40/R19) in the back.
Overall, I still prefer having the ability to carry extra friends around with me or extra luggage if the trunk is full. The G37 is ultimately a more practical car. Plus I think it looks better; so for me the choice was pretty easy. Again, it comes down to what you need out of the car.
Hope that helps you in your decision.

I was almost dead set on the 370Z. But I just can't live with a 2 seater for my only vehicle daily driver. It's just too small.
I also noticed quite a few 370Zs with low mileage for sale, and for low prices.
I was able to see that many people don't own their Z for longer than a year or 2 before getting rid of them. My conclusion is that the Z is an awesome fast fun car. But as a daily driver it gets old pretty quick.
I decided to stick with the G37. Although not as fast or sporty, it is still the best of both worlds.
The 370Z would be great to have as a weekend/project car though.

After one year, I traded my G37 sedan in for a convertible. It just did not drive like my 350Z. The 370Z is a little bit more of a driver's sports car than the G37 IMO. The G37 is more luxurious and the ride is better. I wanted a hard top convertible, and the looks of the Z convertible with the soft top up is gaudy looking to me.
An alternative is the BMW 335 in coupe or sedan form which has more back seat space. Drives like a sports car and has sufficient back seat room. Too many maintenance problems for me; so, I would think twice about buying one. Plus, expensive to buy and maintain.

I used to have a 350Z and traded it in for an Evo, 4 door sedan, which i then traded for the G37 coupe I have now. So far its been the best of both worlds. Back seats if I need them, but sporty coupe 2-door when I don't. I will say I was looking for a 370Z before settling on the G37 though.

If performance is a top priority then the answer is simple; 370Z. However if you only have one car then you should really think about the practicality of the Z.
Before my G37, I was driving a Ford Mustang and the back seats, which fold down, were VERY useful. In fact, it's this feature that was a life saver. Folding the seats down essentially doubles, maybe even triples your cargo capacity. I personally like to snowboard and I own several firearms that are quite long. These items would not fit in a Z as I can only get them to fit in my G by folding the rear seats down. Folding seats was a mandatory feature for me when I was buying my G and one of the main reasons I didn't go with the Lexus IS350. Additionally, I wanted a sporty luxury car, so the G37 fit the bill perfectly.
I've test driven a 370Z before; awesome sports car. However, the G37 fits my personality better. The G has the image, the luxury, the technology, and yes the fun.

OP:
you asked this question in both forums, and the very first responses from both forums say the exact same thing
