Newly Purchased 2009 G37x!
Hey Everyone!
I've been thinking about the G37 for a very long time since it was originally announced as a concept back in 2006. After a lot of thought (and a little persuasion from my little brother who drives a 350z) I finally went forward with the Infiniti
Specs:
2009 G37x Black/Black
26,700 miles
1 Owner/No Accidents
Nav + Tech PKG
Thoughts:
-I LOVE THIS CAR.
-I was really debating btwn this and the 328xi/335i but I think price-wise it makes a lot of sense.
-Low End RPM = eh
-High End RPM = epic
Through the whole process of buying this car, the information from the forums has been very helpful. It is definitely a different vibe from the mbusa forums but I am excited to be here.
My Old Car: 2003 Mercedes E320 with AMG parts and various upgrades
I switched because it is getting old and everything about maintaining it or changing parts is super duper expensive. I wanted a more reliable car and thus decided to go Japanese :]. #noregretssofar
I'm open to suggestions on upgrades. So far I'm thinking:
-Lowering the car (Open to suggestions)
-CAI or Short Ram (Ppl say CAI>Short Ram bcz of hp but Short Ram>CAI because of low rpm gains. What do you guys think?)
-DRL upgrade to LED
-Red GT-R start button
-HID upgrade to 6k or 8k 55W
-X-Pipe
-Headers
-Grounding Kit (Maybe because I see people with battery problems)
Questions:
-Get You replace seats that are wrinkling or steering wheel with sticker peeling under Warranty?
-Is it worth updating the navigation? If so how much is it?
-What is the best suspension kit?
-Is there any suggestions to get Red Seats?
Any other mod suggestions?

Welcome and congrats!
I can answer two of your questions-
1. You can get the peeling steering wheel taken care of under warranty. It's actually a very inexpensive part and under an hour of labor
2. I've looked into upgrading from 2009 nav to the 2010 and newer. The nav screen is slightly higher resolution and better graphics but nothing much beyond that. Nav screens start at 200 on ebay and you probably need to change out the entire radio too. Probably not worth it. Newer maps are available via the Infiniti website and cost 100 with another 100 or so installation fee at the dealership.

Welcome! Nice choice in getting a G37.
Questions:
-Get You replace seats that are wrinkling or steering wheel with sticker peeling under Warranty?
Many members have been successful in getting infiniti to replace the drivers seat due to bubbles and steering wheel do to pealing.
-Is it worth updating the navigation? If so how much is it?
Link to the newest Navagition Maps Upgrades: G Coupe - 2009 - Infiniti Navigation System 2013 Version 8.6 for HDD System -
-What is the best suspension kit?
Depends if you want to just lower your car or want to improve handling with options to modify ride height & dampening controls. If you just want to reduce the wheel gap then you should get some springs either eibach, swift, H&R, Tein, etc. If you want to be able to adjust ride height and dampening while improving your ride comfort, I would suggest Coil-overs. "Best" is a relative term but KW V3 Coil-overs and Tein Flex Coil-overs are excellent coil-overs but, they are pricey.
-Is there any suggestions to get Red Seats?
Up to you, if you want factory red leather seats were offer in the 2010 g37 Anniversary Edition and now the IPL coupe.
-Intakes?
I would suggest getting a CAI long tube system either Stillen or Takeda.
-Other Mods?
-Get some Sway bars front and rear, best bang for your buck. along with the new suspension set up they will decrease your body roll when cornering hard and improve handling. (Hotchkis or eiboch or cusco or whiteline).
Also if you have any more questions do a search on the forum.

I recently replaced the steering wheel finisher on my 2009 G37S. Infiniti will not replace if your car is out of warranty. Anyway, the part is only $13.00 and it will take about 45 minutes to install. The dealership will charge around $132.00. This is a simple DIY....see link below (thanks to mikaly for posting)
