doing the research part now - I'm a pretty big forum user and a gearhead to the fullest.
I'm actually about to put the CD009 in my Lexus SC300 with 1JZ-GTE VVTI setup with a lot more boost at the same time, but that's not why I'm here.
My woman is getting a G37 - she is wanting new and I'm not against it right now - looking at the IPL but more than likely will be going with the Sport 6MT and a few little options inside and pretty much none outside.
With my broad background in cars - have a Saleen, Lifted Silverado, the previously mentioned swapped Lexus, and many mustangs in the past as well as built VW's, and even a Silva when I lived overseas with a CX18 I'm just looking to see the general consensus and a good price range you all ended up with.
I will probably lurk for a while and use the hell out of the search engine - and as well I will be looking at the classified section - want to find out the best exhaust for the car etc...
Rest assured since it is hers it will be Modded by me, but probably slow and very tasteful - slight drop, staggered wheels, slight stretch on the tires, exhaust is a must, short throw, rear spoiler - not a fan but she wants one - and well - just looking to get in on the local talk and gain some knowledge. After exhausting research I went with ya'lls tranny for my 650-850 rwhp project, so why wouldn't I liked the VQ as well as I love the sound and more than likely when she is done with the car I will sell the Lexus and start a new build with the Infinity;-) So I'll be modding it very slowly with the intent of keeping it as my track/autocross/road course build - so that would be Coilovers as opposed to just springs, and little items like that... Looking forward to getting in on this forum more and learning more and more bout the builds and charactheristics as well as bugs to look out for.

Welcome to the site, sounds like you're planning a good list of mods for the "long haul". The 6mt has some clutch spring issues but there's a simple DIY that seems to make the engagement easier. Also Infiniti paint is real chip-happy so if you can find one w/ a clear bra that's a nice plus.

Like i said, big time lurker and searcher right now on the forum, trying to decide on alot of different things right now.
Told her alot though - and she wanted stock 19's I convinced her no so I can do staggered fitment 18's or 20's will be her choice I just prefer 18's personally. anyway, liking how easy it is to add some noise and doesnt' seem the IPL is worth it to me for what I would get for her so probably just 37S 6MT and then all the other options she wants, stock rims for a bit and then stretch the stock tires on the new rims and drop almost immediately;-) Intake, full exhaust - headerback, and tune quickly after that. She keeps throwing wrenches in though - Considering 335's and 135's as well and i'm a Boost hound so I'm not against those as well;-)

If you get a G37 6mt might want to look into the stock coupe 19s, pretty nice look and can often be found in the marketplace for a decent price. The sedan oem wheels aren't too pretty
