No need to do that. Head down to most any border town and check it out for yourself. TJ, Acuna, Matamoros, Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa, etc.

Not that I've ever been to or hung around such areas...

Thanks guys

Has anyone actually tried any of these though? I haven't actually come across any posts that have actually bought and proven that these $1000 turbo kits are garbage.

Additionally, anyone have any experience with the GTM twin turbo kits or the Stillen turbocharger? Which one would you prefer?

Clearly you are new and are unfamiliar with the search featue. Look at the top of the page, any page. Type whatever you want to find in the search field and press enter. Try "GTM turbo" or "Stillen supercharger" You'll have days of informatin to read that's already posted here on the forum about them. As far as the question of has anyone actually installed this crap, no. Why would anyone need to waste a grand to know that this crap is crap? Just look at it. It might benefit you to do a LOT more reading on forced induction starting with the very basics before even considering what type of system, or parts, or vendor to choose. With a little more knowledge of forced induction systems you will know how we can see that this is junk without having tried it. Everyone starts somewhere. Start by reading the wealth of information already out there in order to know what questions to ask.

I'll move this to the noob forum to prevent you getting flamed for posting this in the FI forum.

Just porting & polishing a turbo could run that much.
Precision turbo are the least expensive universal turbos around.
They guarantee the units work unlike eBay.,
$1,000 turbo won't work on a g without some serious modification.

Precision Turbo does make inexpensive, high quality units.
But just intercooler piping & all the other nuts / bolts.,

Your gonna need a bigger budget for FI.

Just adding a tbe / downpipe /uicp LIcp/ intake / 3 port ebc & protune pushing 26psi.

$2,500.00+ my is already equipped with a twin scroll turbo.

Boosting is the most expensive mod you can do, just my .02.

I've already done a good amount of reading, but failed to find anyone brave enough to try it. Figured I could ask and see.

Will check out other threads on GTM and Stillen.

Price isn't always an accurate indicator of quality.

Yeah, best of luck with that. If you find yourself "brave" enough to spend $1000 on it, be sure to post your experiences on how the install and tune go. You'll be a trailblazer in the community.

well that's 15nmins I'll never get back..lol I still think that if you can get those cheap enough, and use some 3 or 4 inch flex ducting you could hook up a set of brake coolers for those big brakes up front on the trac days. Prolly keep the fade away.
that video is pretty funny tho

cheers
