Hello - New Member, Kinda

Hey, everyone. I've been lurking around the site for a while, and I thought I'd finally allow myself... to introduce... myself. I picked up a 2013 IPL 6MT Malbec Black on Graphite back in September, traded up from an AWD X coupe. So far, I've tinted the windows 30% all around and smoked out the tail lights and spoiler brake light. Loving the car so far!

I just wanted to say how awesome this site is. I found some really helpful information by searching this site back when I wanted to lower my X from its ridiculous 4x4 stock height. So I thought I'd finally sign up and contribute.

A little car history:
- 2006 Nighthawk Black Pearl on Black Acura TSX A-Spec, got a little crumpled
- 2008 Berlina Black on Black Honda S2000, foolishly traded in because I wanted a better year-round car
- 2011 Obsidian Black on Graphite Infiniti G37X AWD Coupe, 7AT non-sport and immediate buyer's remorse
- 2013 Malbec Black on Graphite Infiniti IPL 6MT Coupe, current and bada$$

I had some unfortunate engine issues with the X. I really liked the car though, except my left leg kept falling asleep, so I decided to forgo year-round drivability for some RWD 6MT goodness that I missed. I ended up trading up from the X to the IPL 6MT. Here's a crappy phone pic...

I just hope this one holds up mechanically. Three pedals FTW!

Looking good..

You need not sacrifice 6MT coz of winters. Just put some winters on them and they are as good as X. And 6MT is definitely the way to go for any coupes.

Congrats and good luck

Before fwd, there was rwd. We survived winters just fine

Just don't run summer rubber in the winter. All season or better yet winter tires are the best. Your biggest issue with the G will be ground clearance in the snow. Anything more than 4-5" and you're pushing it instead of driving through it.

Enjoy!

3 pedals > 2 pedals

Hey everyone, thanks for the warm welcomes!

No worries, if it snows more than a couple inches, I'll just use a beater car until the roads are clear again. I figured I wouldn't have to do that with the X and that I could drive a nice car all year round, but it isn't worth sacrificing the 6MT on every other day of the year.

As for mods, nah, I think I'm good for a while. The stock ride height doesn't bother me as much as it did on the AWD X... for now, anyway. And there's no way I'm swapping out the OEM wheels. The gunmetal IPL wheels are awesome. I get compliments all the time.
