Welcome to the forum. There's plenty of members here from your area. Cereal2k lives there and is very active, I'm sure he'll probably pop into this thread soon. Check the Southeast regional forum to see what's going on there.

Welcome to forum. I am out in Atlanta as well. Just picked up my '12 G37S Coupe on February 7 and installed my K&N Typhoon on it last Monday. Loving it :-)

Welcome aboard! There are quite a few G25/35/G37 owners in Atlanta and quite a few with Vossen Wheels!

It sounds great! As for performance, it definitely has some extra pull based on the butt dyno, but it's all north of 3500 rpm. I did flash the ECU with the pedal mash, timing method and it seemed to help some of the perceived "bog". If you are doing intake, headers and exhaust you are probably going to get a proper tune anyway, so that should be a non issue.

The install of the K&N typhoon is a snap and the fit and finish is great. The one exception is the passenger side crankcase breather vent hose that needs to be trimmed down to fit the G37 instead of the 370z.

You may see comments on the Typhoon being a "hot" air intake because the heat shield and shorter tubes sit in the engine bay in the stock position, rather than being placed in the front air dam like Stillen, Takeda and others. The reality is there are direct air paths through the grill that lead right to the K&N heat shield box. The performance is great and you would be hard pressed to find better bang for the buck. I got mine off Amazon for $271.98 shipped.

Yea i was going for the Cold air but with the rain and lack of proper water draining systems in GA i might not. i don't want water in my motor i already had the motor replaced once already. When ever i get it all done i will dyno it and see what the numbers say. Numbers never lie!!

You won't have a problem at with water, especially with the K&N, unless you are forging low water crossings! To my knowledge, even the guys with the Stillen Gen 3 don't really have any problems with rain and standing water.

The Typhoon system replaces the stock boxes and the tubes and filter with heat shield terminate in the same location as stock. There are ports from the grill into the stock air boxes and when you replace them, you just get more air flow directly into the conical K&N filter. Someone would have to put a firehouse to the front end to get enough water in there to have any kind of a negative impact.

Don't worry about water at all...any of the reputable aftermarket intakes should make you happy.

For those who are local, there is a dyno day Saturday at Z1 Motorsports and a Mountain Run on Sunday with the local 370z guys.
